I have driven through Medford dozens of times over the last 20 years and I've stayed at this Red Lion for many of them skipping a year here and there. (Staying in Ashland is more fun in the winter.) It's like a tired workhorse. It tries but it just doesn't win any awards for me. This last stay was OK. The room was 'clean' but because the furnishings, bedskirts, walls and bathroom trim etc. is SO WORN it appears dirtier. The carpet is lumpy so it feels like something is living under it. OK the good news is that it is priced accordingly and it's quiet. The staff are efficient but not intrusive. There's plenty of parking and it's check in and get out without any hassle. What they should do is a complete remodel but in this economy I don't think that's going to happen. When they do I'd be willing to pay more to get more and get those lumps out of the carpet! Ew!

This is the cleanest room I have had in a long time. The beds were comfortable. The room size was average with a big bathroom. The check in was easy with the friendly clerk. Definetly using this hotel again.

We arrived in the evening. I did not feel safe, as the surrounding area didn't seem to be a good part of town. There was no elevator, which is okay if you have a small suitcase to carry. The rooms are outdoor entrances. The rooms are musty-smelling, much dust on the vent, the bed was uncomfortable, there was a strip outlet that was partially behind a piece of furniture (hard to get to) and only a few of them worked. There were pretty much no working outlets in the room, which makes it difficult to charge two cell phones, a computer, and have lights on to read by. Even my traveling companion, who is used to less-than-nice hotels, was not pleased and swore to never return to Red Lion Medford! We couldn't wait to get out of there the next morning. If we had to stay more than one night in Medford, we would've gone elsewhere.
We looked at the offered continental breakfast (which we would've had to pay for, and it was priced arond $10) was not appetizing and did not have much of a selection.We chose to not eat.

According to Locals the surrounding area is not so good, and the Hotel was old i didn't like the room , the setup, and the fact that it is little creepy at night.
i had to move after the second night and go to better place.
