“a quaint bit of luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2011

We stayed in the Explorer room (main building) for 2 nights during a snowstorm. These rooms are really nice. You can tell they were put together with love. I would suggest staying in an upstairs unit though, as the jacuzzis do get loud (luckily there was no one staying below us). I thought the customer service was more than adequate. The Ice machine was broken but we were supplied with Ice by the manager, so that was no problem. The only complaint I have about our stay was that their website says the fireplaces are gas but ours was one of those cheesy electric Amish ones. It put out enough heat, but it kind of cheapened the experience. They should update the info on the website. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay here, very romantic and cozy. Recommended!

“Simple but perfect overnight stay for us”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

We didn't have reservations but popped in on a monday for an overnight stay. the jucuzzi rooms were available. We thought the mid week price was far better for the value of the room with deck and view then cannon beach. We enjoyed our stay. Tip: the great breakfast place with bakery across the street is closed on Mon/Tues. The yoga place in town called Longevity provides a great morning class most mornings. Just up one block from the Inn.

“Just okay”

The room was very clean but we were in a downstairs room and could hear every sound from above. The jacuzzi tub was nice. I feel the room was overpriced for the quality. I prefer Surfsand Resort in Cannon Beach. I wouldn't stay here again.

“Nice rooms do not outweigh horrible customer service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2010

The Beachcomber room was very nice, with an amazing pillow plush top bed and a synthetic down duvet. Note, we glanced at some of the other rooms in other buildings on the site, some of them had older, less nice furnishings. The gas fireplace was a nice touch. It was superbly relaxing, going between the jacuzzi and sitting in the pleasant, but cool and clear Spring weather out on the deck. When the room upstairs used their jacuzzi it was a little loud which is probably why they ask that you not use them after 10PM. The customer service was awkward, though passable. However in an email exchange planning a 2nd visit, I got this response after inquiring on whether they would allow us the same rate that they offered on our previous trip:

" ...it is now May and we are not offering any deals other than offering our off season rate for the weekends. That’s the best we can do it. Take it or leave it. We are running a business here not a charity. -Gary"

“Very lovely off-season get-away/Good Value”

Like the previous poster, I also was able to take advantage of the early spring value package wherein the 2nd night was half-price when staying on weeknights. I stayed in the main building, the Woodsman Room-room was exceptionally clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, view was nice, and the room itself was tastefully appointed. Being in off-season and not on a weekend, it was nice and quiet. A few of the restaurants were closed, but a nice grocery store was within walking distance with a great deli and prepared foods. The location was also nice-walking distance to both the beach and many parts of Manzanita. The proprietor was very helpful in providing information about the area and hikes. I would definitely go again.
