Once again we were in Madras and stayed at the Madras Hotel. This time we stayed in the motel part. The cleanliness was there, same as in the Hotel. The room was larger than the hotel, and we did not notice any street noise. The bed was very comfortable. We highly recommend this property. We will stay again.

We stayed in the motel section of the Madras Hotel. It is adjacent to the historic hotel building from the early 20h century. The place did not seem to be very full and the owner gave us a fair rate. They recently remodeled the rooms and we were told that every room is different. The interior is not the normal motel interior indeed, which we found pleasant.

Our two bed room was very small for the four of us, so we had difficulties placing our suitcases somewhere. They have an absolute no-smoking policy, which even includes having smoked recently. We did not mind that at all, as we hate the smell of especially old smoke. The room was super clean.

However, we did not get a good sleep, because the location is right next to US-97/26, the main North-South artery in central Oregon. The windows did not block off very well the sound
of the trucks going through the city day and night.

The hotel does neither offer breakfast, nor internet access, but we were able to get a weak signal from some nearby place that offers free wireless internet access to its customers.

Overall, we would not chose it again for the road noise and the size of the room. However, for singles or couples, it could be a good place to stay, because of its cleanliness - just bring earplugs.
