When my boyfriend and I first walked in it stunk like old moldy cheese!! The bed was sinking into the middle and a HUGE nasty stain on the bedspread, the shower had hair all in it, the toilet seat was up like the person who attempted to clean the room forgot to put the seat down. The chairs in the room were both stained with nasty white stains ALL OVER.. SICK.. Lets just say we ended up turning around and leaving after 10 minutes and got a hotel elsewhere! GROSS!!!

Older hotel, not fancy. Incredible view. Avoid the elevator. Enjoyed our stay.

First of all I have stayed in many hotels and I have never felt the need to complain. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Cozy Cove over labor day weekend this year (2011). We paid 150.00 per night to have an oceanfront room. I assumed paying that kind of money you would at least get an average room. When we checked in, the lady at the front desk was incredibly rude. She didn't even know how to smile and say hello which is basic customer service.

Then we get to our hotel room. I walked into the restroom to take a shower and it smelled like urine. It wasn't a slight smell, it was as if I were in a gas station restroom. Again, we had just stepped foot into our hotel room that had supposedly just been cleaned. We decided not to complain because again, I have never been "that person" before. I figured the next day we could put the maid service sign up and they would clean our room.

The next day we took off to walk on the beach and when we came back it was 5:00PM and no one had came yet. My boyfriend asked one of the maid's if they could please clean our room and the maid said that he had already been in our room. WHAT! All he did was give us new towels and empty the garbage cans. He didn't vacuum, clean the bathroom, make the bed, nothing!

Needless to say the Cozy Cove was by far the worst place I have ever stayed and they charge an insane amount of money for such repulsive rooms.

My husband and I took two grandsons, ages 12 and 3, to Lincoln City for a few days. We chose the Cozy Cove because it has such great beach access, but there turned out to be so many more great kid-friendly reasons to stay.

We had a ground floor room with a full kitchen, which was really good with two hungry boys. It's a real pain to get them out of the water and cleaned up just to go out for lunch, so we used the kitchen quite a bit. Saved money and our nerves. The room had a a queen bed for us and a hide-a-bed for the boys. The sliding door at the back opened directly onto a little fenced lawn and steps to the sand. Literally, the beach was just a few steps from their bed and the boys loved it! They could run out and feed the gulls their scraps, build sand castles, fly kites -- whatever. Plus, the D River is right there, so wading and chasing tiny fish was a ball.

Out the front door was the pool and hot tub. The pool was pretty cold for us grownups, but the boys loved it and there were plenty of other children to play with. It's clean and fenced. The hot tub was always pretty budy, but it was comfortably warm without being too hot for little ones.

All in all, it was a nice stay and we will very likely go back again.
