“The Rooster Room Was Our Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

We stayed in Lincoln City in August 2011. It was a very quiet week with few other visitors at the Hotel. Which made our stay even nicer. There was no air conditioning in the room. So when we came home from a day at the beach the room was stuffy. By opening a window over the range and leaving the front door cracked ajar, allowed beautiful, cool ocean breezes to drop the temperature in short order. My wife enjoyed walking up to Starbucks for her morning coffee and reading on one of the many Adirondack chairs until said coffee was drained. Outside the Rooster Room the Whistling Winds Hotel staff have planted nasturtiums. So it was a comfortable week on the Coast with my favorite flowers thrown in to boot! We loved it and will be back to look for agates next.

Room Tip: The Rooster Room is a separate cottage with no common wall with the other rooms in the hotel complex...

“Clean. Cozy. Romantic. Good Value.”

This was our second trip to the Whistling Winds Motel. We had the "Gamblers Cottage", the same one we had last time. I guess the Universe decided we should stay in the same one we got last time which was fine by me.

The panels of woodwork in this place makes me feel very cozy and warm. It's nice to have a kitchen available to cook in if you want. To venture out to the beach, it's only a short walk down the road.

When you are tired of all the cookie-cutter type rooms when staying at our lovely Coast, please try a stay here. This place is very unique, clean and calming.

Room Tip: There is ONE Jacuzzi room available here- I do not know the # of the cottage. 2 of the rooms do have...

“WHAT A FIND”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

Thank you Trip Advisor reviews for pointing out the Whistling Winds to me. What a great place to stay. Completely remodeled, very clean, and reasonably proced. A pleasant and short walk to the beach and located on a quiet street. The managers are very nice and helpful...a perfect spot to stay on the coast.

“charming and cozy..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

this place is very cute... the Innkeepers are nice even tho i changed my resv. several times before arrival. the room we had was a vintage cottage which was a good value $89 on a Monday in October, higher on the weekends. there are alot of personal touches here that make it cozy and warm... and the retro charm, gas fireplace, pine walls, and jetted tub are all great. there were only 2 of us, but the room is large enough that u could easily have 3 people and still be comfortable. this was a quiet getaway for our first night on the coast because we really just wanted to rest/relax after such a long drive. the one thing i didnt like was the book with all the rules and dont's in it. the info about the area, safety, and the Motel itself is fine to have in the room for guests to read about, but all the pages of rules are a bit over the top... and it made us feel uneasy, but i can see why this might be necessary in the summer months when the place is packed. i probably wont stay here again when we are in Oregon because we usually stay ocean-front.. so this was different for us, and after traveling 1400 miles from Colorado it's hard to be so close to the water yet not see it from our room..
