“A serendipity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2007

A casual visitor to the Oregon coast would never just happen upon Floras Lake House. The extra effort needed to find this B&B is well worth it. The house is comfortable, the lake and area around the house are beautiful, and the staff are welcoming. Each morning the owners, Liz and Will, have breakfast and conversation with the guests. When Liz and Will are not around, the caretakers (Bertie and John) are available to answer questions, recommend a restaurant, etc.

Our two-night stay at Floras Lake House was very pleasant.

“Our home away from home”

My husband John and I have stayed at the Floras Lake House B & B several times over the last four years. Liz and Will, the owners and John and Bertie the caretakers are delightful and so warm they make us feel at home. There are four rooms that are individually unique in their decor and each one is spotlessly clean (we have stayed in each one). The towels are thick, the beds are comfortable, and the views are a feast for the eyes.

One of the things I enjoy most is the quiet I find at this inn that is tucked away from the bustle of the world. The lake is serene and the ocean is a short walk from the house. There is easy access to a beach that is usually deserted. We love sitting on the dunes and watching the waves roll in as well as taking a leisurely stroll. For the more adventuresome, there is wind surfing on the lake with equipment and lessons available.

Breakfast varies from visit to visit but each one has been delicious. Each time we have had a warm dish as well as homemade granola, fruit, and different types of bread. The breakfast conversations range from intellectually thoughtful discussions to hysterically comical stories.

We both highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast and plan on visiting often in the coming years.

  • Liked — The friendly people.
  • Disliked — It is a bit of a drive from Bandon but was worth it for the quality of accommodations.

“Gorgeous location, WONDERFUL people”

My husband and I stayed at Flora's during a whirlwind tour of the West (think San Francisco to LA, San Diego, Las Vegas, Montana, Seattle, Portland and back to San Francisco).
We planned a night at Flora's before returning to SF and ending our honeymoon. We wanted a peaceful, quaint, charming place to clear our heads and enjoy the lovely Oregon sea coast. We found this and more.
With a unique setting that places the B&B by the Pacific as well as a small lake, you are completely immersed in fresh air and an endless sky. Beyond the beautiful grounds you can walk for hours and not see a single soul.
Owners Liz and Will, and caretakers Bertie and John, are gracious, friendly and make your stay feel like a night with friends. We enjoyed the light atmosphere over breakfast where everyone exchanged more than simple pleasantries.
We look forward to our next trip through Langlois so that we may stop and say hello to our new friends at their beautiful bed and breakfast.
