“Decent motel, next to Klamath Basin Brewery”

This motel was ok and reasonably priced. I was in Klamath Falls for a week in Winter 2009 photographing bald eagles in the nearby Klamath National Wildlife Refuge. We chose the Maverick because it is next door to the brew pub. This worked perfectly for our trip, as we were able to sit on comfortable couches next to a large fire and review the day's photos on our laptops, enjoy some great beer, then stumble back to our rooms.

The hotel served its purpose, but it's not great. Rooms were old bur reasonably clean. The continental breakfast was horrible, sealed packets of some pastry-like foodstuff drenched in enough chemicals I'd prefer to eat my chemical hand-warmers (and they'd probably taste better). Coffee was from an instant mix. Bottom line, assume the price of your room doesn't include breakfast. There was sometimes a homeless person sleeping in the hallway and wandering around the parking lot. No wireless internet, but a computer was available in the lobby, which was important to check road conditions as we got hit by a good snow storm during our stay.

It if were not for the brewery, I'd stay somewhere else next time, but as it was, I'll be back next year.

“Cheap but small”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2008

The rooms are very small, and it's noisy (road noise & trains). The heat in our room had apparently went out so we had a small free standing radiator for heat. The windows are old, single pane and you can hear everything from outside. The bed was comfortable.

“So-So...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2008

my wife and I stayed here for a night after touring the lava beds national park while on our way to Medford. Obviously this place isn't the Ritz-Carlton but it served it's purpose for our one night stay. The walls are pretty thin so there is a good possibility you may hear your neighbors if they are overly loud. The bed was fairly comfortable and there was a fridge and microwave in the room. The room itself was very bland but was clean. The t.v. was decent and there seemed to be a fair amount of selections available. The hotel is located in the "downtown" area of Klamath Falls which is actually pretty depressing in and of itself. There is a pretty good microbrew/restaurant right behind the motel maverick which seemed to do a pretty decent business and had good beer and food. The motel had coffee and danish available in the front office along with some various travel brochures. I believe that we paid about $65 for the night which isn't bad in comparison to some of the other hotels in town, would probably stay here again if I were ever in the area.

  • Disliked — thin walls, could hear others in next room

“tiny”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2007

After reading the other travelers' reviews, we booked a one night stay at the Maverick Motel. The tiny room was clean, but very dark, dingy , a bit shabby and kind of creepy. We had only one chair for the 2 of us and no table. I'm not quite sure where the other furniture could have even fit, the room was so small.
If we are in Klamath Falls again, I'll stay at a different establishment.

“Clean older units”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2007

Older unit in downtown Klamath Falls. Pleasant and friendly owner/managers were very helpful.

Units were quiet and clean,. Mattresses were on the hard side.

We had an excellent dinner at the brewpub-restaurant next door,

A good value for the price
