“Gorgeous Stay in the Gorge!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

My new wife and I stayed in the Pinochle Suite as a short Honeymoon getaway and we were both AMAZED by our suite! From the tile floors to the gas fireplaces, our accommodations were fantastic!!! My fiance especially enjoyed the enormous bath tub off the master bedroom. I meanwhile enjoyed a glass of wine, the KING sized bed and the flat screen TV.
We skied both days at Mt Hood Meadows Ski Resort and returned to our home away from home each evening. On our first night, the staff had turned on lights and the fireplace so our suite was warm and inviting when we arrived.
Great location, beautiful views and lovely rooms!!
We will return for sure!!!!

Dear Chris and Theresa,

Congratulations! Thank you for choosing Columbia Cliff Villas – and especially for sharing your experience with TripAdvisor. Even though we’ve been recognized by 1859 Magazine as a ‘Top 10 Most Romantic Destinations’ venue, nothing compares to a testimonial from a happy couple who have honored us with the opportunity to play a role their lifetime memories.

We hope to see you around the same time every year for many anniversaries to come. But remember, there’s never a bad time for a romantic getaway.

Best wishes,
Steve Tessmer, GM

“Very Romantic Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

We spent 2 nights at the Columbia Cliff Villa's. If you want a drop dead gorgeous view of the Columbia River, one that is breathtaking by daylight, then complimented by the nighttime tree lite grounds of the Columbia Gorge Hotel to the full view of the right side of the dining room, this is the place for a memorable romantic stay, units # 5 & 6, 3 bedroom (or reserve just the Master) Penthouse Suites facing the River. We prefer Unit 6, not only for the top floor, decor and furnings, but the fact that the chance if hearing the Unit above or next door would be more limited.

The floorplan layout is everything we enjoy, open, large gourmet kitchen facing the river and overlooking a large dining room, adjacent to a large great room, amazing Master bedroom and Master bath, with great views from both, large and luxurious. We love the details in the Villa's understated elegance, rich woods, quality finishs and interior elements. Between the view, the meal (private Catering from Celilo including the amazing Chef, Ben Stenn), the special occasion for our stay, we highly recommend this place, and the people managing it. If a view is really important to you just know that you wont get it from every room, and you should be specific, and know what you want and what you're getting. Views certainly vary per room. We found the beds to be very comfortable in our rooms, and we tend to be particular about the quality of beds. They are in the processing of adding another building which will be a nice view as well, second to the building we stayed in, but it will also block the view for the building behind it.

Hood River itself its a fun little town, we highly recommend Celilo and Brian's Pourhouse for food. We also enjoyed a full day at the spa at FLOW. I don't know the pricing off hand of the other rooms and town houses, but if your going to HR to hang out and enjoy the great food, beer, wine and recreation, and you're not that concerned about the view, and you're splitting a Townhouse between 2-3 bills you're probably still getting about the best stay in town at CCV, anyway you slice it IMO far better than the Columbia Gorge Hotel, or at the very least the top of the list. I can't see how you'd be disappointed, we'll be back for our Anniversary and a possible trip in between.

Also read in Oregon 1859 Magazine that they were rated in the top 10 most romantic places to stay for Valentines, only one noted for Hood River, and Celilo was rated the place to dine while staying there!

Room Tip: Unit # 6 & # 5

“Gorgeous and peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Beautiful setting and a fabulous room that was so quiet and peaceful. Although Hood River is a great small town place to visit...I prefer staying in and soaking in the beautiful scenery for a piece of tranquility and quiet.

“Great if you like sleeping next to a train track...”

This condo-hotel was great if you like sleeping next to a train track. We had a "River Room" with "Balcony" and paid $327.31 after taxes. The room was nice but about every hour during the night a frieght train came roaring by. The room was just above and next to the train tracks, as it seems all the best rooms/suits are. We stayed only one night and figured that if we wanted to return to the Columbia River Gorge we'd just stay in Portland in an equally comfortable hotel at half the price and get a good nights sleep. The drive's less than a hour! The hotel was close to downtown hood river (a plus). We did have a view of the river from our room but the "Balcony" could not have been much more than one foot wide so there was no chance of sitting outside.

Room Tip: Book for only one night and see if the trains bother you and then stay longer if you're happy. S...

“So clean, comfortable, and chic.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

This property is located in one of the most beautiful areas I've ever seen. It's roomy, cozy, and very nicely decorated.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a living space, we stayed in the Carriage House.
