“Perfect stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The Orenco is simply perfect. Located in quaint Hillsboro, only minutes from Portland, the hotel is unassuming from the sidewalk. However, when you enter, it is instantly clear how classy it is. It has a secure entrance and the downstairs lobby is stocked with complimentary snacks and DVDs. The room blew us away. It is VERY spacious, with a large, comfortable bed, couch, and desk. There is plenty of closet space with a portable heater. The bathroom was tremendous! The jacuzzi exceeded my expectations and we spent a relaxing 30 minutes soaking in it. Everything inside was classy and well-done. The surrounding town and restaurants are within walking distance. The Orenco Station Grill was delectable. I would absolutely recommend a stay here.

“Great Concept”

My wife and I experienced a two-night stay. This was a good value at under one hundred bucks per night (weekend rate). I really liked the independent come-and-go feel to this converted multi-unit townhouse property. The arrival system with combo locks on property and room entry was great. I felt secure and I just had a sense that my co-guests would take as much precaution as we did in doing our part for security. Our room was upstairs, just adjacent to the community washer. This was not too much of a nuisance, but noticed. The queen bedding was comfortable and the sitting area was appreciated. The AC unit was floor standing with an exhaust hose to the window; kind of funky and did add noise. This all made for a tight fit. The bathroom was clean and the shower had soap/shampoo dispensers which was somewhat eco-friendly. The toilet was functional but needed attention to assure complete operation. I really liked the lobby which was stocked with water and snacks and a good DVD library. The Wi-Fi performed fine. Parking was on the street and varied by time of day. We parked as near as across the street and as far as around the corner, which wasn't so far. Orenco Station has a number of eating/watering places within a stone's throw and a nice grocery store with deli and made-to-order counter. There was a farmer's market on the day we left from our August stay. I did a long run in the morning and cooled down in the nice neighborhood park just adjacent to the property. The checkout was also an independent experience. We would not have seen the proprietor except that my wife wanted to purchase a custom-made card from the front desk area. One call and the guy showed up in minutes. (I'm sorry, but his name escapes me). Again, this all was a *good* thing. The stay was a good value and we had a nice time. I would have to think about if this would still make a good value at one-forty per night. However, I would consider staying here again.

“Comfortable and relaxing”

Went on my anniversary. We were looking for a place that was quiet and relaxing. We really just wanted a weekend to ourselves away from the hassle and distractions. The self check in and check out was great. The area was quiet but still provided some places to dine. The lobby was stocked with FREE dvd's to borrow, as well as snacks and coffee. Bed was AMAZINGLY comfortable.

“Elegant & Home-Like”

The Orenco has such a wonderful and different atmosphere from the typical hotel. Elegant & home-like at the same time! Great location for our needs. We loved it there. During our stay, if it wasn't for the room service requests hanging from the other guests' doors, we would have thought we were the only ones there, it was so quiet. The one time we did need some help, there was an immediate response - and that was on Christmas Eve.

“So Cool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

The apartment/brownstone building has so much character. We rarely saw anyone. The beds were great and the room spacious. Not as spacious as the pictures on the internet, but spacious. The pedestal sinks in the restroom are not woman friendly but there is shelving. We could walk to get coffee or to the cutest grocery store.

Room Tip: We stayed in B2, two queens on the main level. We only heard people on the stairs, water running bu...
