We stayed at Springhill Suites for about 5 days while searching for a permanent place to stay since we were relocating to Hillsboro. And the decision to stay here was based on my previous experience when I had come down to Portland for a business trip.
Pros: Spacious clean rooms, hospitality, breakfast and free internet.
Cons: Can't really think of one.

With an indoor pool and a waffle maker at breakfast, this SpringHill Suites was a hit with the kids. Rooms were good, what you would expect, location was very good for what we needed. Service was good and friendly, rooms were clean. We would stay again.

One thing for sure is this hotel is in a relatively convenient location with it literally minutes away from company offices in Hillsboro area, just off freeway which makes getting to downtown Portland a breeze, walking distance to Starbucks and eateries such as Panera, Noodles & co, etc.

Rooms are on the larger scale of hotels and it's decent that they have a partition between sleeping areas and work/living area. Very clean and small but sufficient kitchenette area was a nice touch for morning coffee and occasional microwave food or takeout re-heating.

Internet is free throughout the facility, coin laundries are also accessible at site. Breakfast is also great by American standards as they have good spread of eggs, sausages, fruits, Vegs, waffles, juices, milks, yogurts, cereals... You get the idea... Almost everything you need to get you started. They do have free flow brewed coffee as well and all-day tea selections available as well.

Kudos to the warm cookies in the evenings as nothing really feels more homely than cookies to welcome you "home" from a long day.

All in all, a good price for a more than you bargained for accommodation in Hillsboro area.

Also, for those who are considering staying in the city and making the daily commute to Hillsboro. I would really advice against it. Having lived in Asian cities, the traffic is comparable if not worse in the freeway especially during after work hours. The added 1 hour+ each way commute is not worth it. You could probably be better off staying in Hillsboro area and commuting occasionally to downtown area later in the evenings for occasions.

The hotel was great - no problems, which is just the way I like my stays. The exercise room has 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical and a recumbent stationary bike. Glad to see marriott is making these facilities 24 x 7. There's no reason to set hours when everyone has key card access. All equipment is fitted with the Lifefitness TV system but the channel lineup is limited. No weights or other equipment. Towels and water cooler provided along with earbuds if you ask at the front desk.

I stayed here because I had business at Intel's RA3 facility. It is less than a mile from the hotel. Be advised fellow travelers, the traffic around this area is <very> crazy. There is a ton of retail, numerous side streets, lights and then there are a zillion people coming and going at Intel, especially during typical rush times. There was even a crash right in front of my hotel. Be careful out there.
