Conveniently located close to I-84 exit and adjacent to a gas station and A & W. A few miles from the town of Hermiston. Appears to be popular with truckers as there were many idling trucks outside of our room. The hotel and our room were spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable with extra pillows and standard quality linens. We appreciated having a refridgerator for our picnic supplies. The breakfast (continental) was sufficient and consisted of muffins, apples, bananas, waffles, packaged oatmeal and dry cereals, coffee and juice. The exercise room has a programmble treadmill, and different weight circuits which was handy to have when the temperature outside was over 90 degrees F. David, the general manager was very pleasant and helpful when we brought to his attention that our air conditioner cycled on and off and probably didn't cool the room to the temperature of our choice. We woke up in the middle of the night and were quite warm. The desk clerk didn't know why the air conditioning didn't stay on. David told us that in Hermiston, the temperature gets so hot that if the air conditioner didn't cycle, the compressor would burn out. Nonetheless, the clerk advised us to open the window, "it's quite cool outside" and that did help cool the room but we had to shut the window because the light from the parking lot lights and noise from the idlling trucks prevented us from returning to slumber.
Next time we're in Hermiston, we might venture further into town where it might be quieter and we can control the temperature of our room.
