Don't expect a key to your room because there isn't one. The front door is never locked so people can come in off the street. We were worried about our belongings because the bedroom door only locked from the inside. The place does not have any signs out the front to indicate that it is a B&B. The owners have a chicken coop with dozens of mite infested hens, 6 cats and a baby rabbit which was living in the downstairs bathroom. I wanted to freshen up on my arrival and since our room was not ready, asked if there was somewhere else I could go. Della offered me the kitchen sink, which I declined. Breakfast is taken at their kitchen table - otherwise known as their "dining room". I had to go looking for bowls and glasses myself. She made me some poached eggs and picked the cooked eggs up in her hand and plopped them onto my plate. Same with the toast! We were horrified. No utensils were used. There was no real effort made and this may explain why they do not have many guests. The room was lovely but the bed was as soft as a marshmallow and my husband and I ended up in the middle of the bed due to the mattress being way too soft. Their website makes the place look professional and resort-like, which it is not. One day I returned to see Virgil, the 81 year old owner, sitting at the, ahem, "dining" table, his shirt completely undone to the waist exposing his bare chest. This place just rents out spare bedrooms and calls itself a B&B. Go elsewhere is my recommendation. By the way, we stayed 3 nights and our room was never serviced.

Dear Future Guests, this booking was made and paid for by a business associate or agent, the premises were opened for him to fully inspect the common rooms and the Master prior to their arrival, but perhaps Blondie should have stated her preference for 5 star, $500.00 plus per night Michelin rated resort hotels like the ones she raves about in previous postings on this site
Dear Blondie,
Thank you for your review, especially your star rating, where you marked all things except service and sleep quality as being well above average, and cleanliness as exceptional.
As for your title that states that my website is misleading, both my bedandbreakfast and my personal websites state this is a private home, in an upscale suburban residential area, with four large comfortable rooms with private baths to choose from. There are no “spare rooms”, there is four bedroom suites upstairs fully dedicated to my new bed and breakfast business, there is absolutely no posturing or statements that this is a “resort” because it is not. And most Guests upon arrival state that the pictures do not capture how spacious and truly beautiful it is.
As you state you were here for three nights, you made no mention of discomfort regarding your bed, desiring maid service, nor fear for your safety, and you ate all three breakfasts provided, Dear Guest unless I am told of a problem, I cannot fix it.
Also you state you were here for three nights with no servicing of your suite, both of my websites fully states I do not service rooms unless requested to do so, most of my Guests prefer this, At all times I respect the privacy of my Guests. But if you had requested at any time it would have been provided.
Now to address your issue of the safety, During the day time my front door is always unlocked, but security is in place, after my last Guests arrive back and are situated for the evening, I dead-bolt all ground floor entrances and turn off the flood lights. As for your statement “anyone could walk in off the street” that is ridiculous, number one, we are on a dead-end cul de sac, with no foot traffic, and also how do you think I was able to greet you each evening upon your return, to request what you would prefer for breakfast and ask if you had any special requests? I do not have ESP as some Guests have stated, and I assure you I do not stand around all night waiting around the staircase for your arrival. Also I hope you remembered to say “cheese” upon entering the stair case landing. Please let me assure all past and future Guests We have an extensive and very expensive state of the art Security system hard wired throughout the entire premises and property, including the garage doors.
And no, I have no Business signs, as stated this is an upscale neighborhood, All business and Guests are prearranged and invited, we do not accept “off the street business” which signs are meant to pull in.
Regarding your arrival, you arrived over four hours before your arranged check in time, my Guests from the night before had only left 10 or 15 minutes before your arrival. If I had of had a clean and properly sanitized restroom available, I would have offered it to you, also I did not offer you my kitchen sink, I stated that the only sink that was sanitary was my kitchen sink. Also when you arrived four hours early you caught my Husband taking liquid refreshment in the breakfast nook, it was a very hot day and he had been mowing the lawn for over two hours, I unbuttoned his shirt to prevent possible heat stroke, which was around the same time one of my working cats brought me a young wild rabbit, she never harms or kills them, I always secure them in a quiet room where they can’t be harmed until I can safely return them to the wild.
Also my cats are not allowed into the guest areas, why you mention them I don’t know.
Also I was the one who told you the fresh eggs I advertised were no longer available, and I was in the process of finding new homes for my girls because of a problem of mite infestation of their hutch, at the time you were here I only had ten left, and each of them had already been sold for $20.00 each and were only awaiting pickup by their new owner.
Now onto your being horrified at breakfast service, first I want to state prior to handling or preparing any food be it for Guests or my family’s consumption, my hair is fully pulled back and secured, then my hands are washed, scrubbed, and sanitized; during breakfast service after touching bacon or any meat product, after breaking eggs, my hands are thoroughly washed and sanitized before touching anything, on average that is around five to six times per breakfast service.
For your first breakfast you requested poached eggs, toast, and your husband also wanted bacon. The bread for your toast I prepared the day before, it was hand kneaded by my bare hands that had been washed, it was punched down and rolled into it’s loaf with my bare hands, and it was sliced by my bare hands, and it is a short pivoted step from the toaster to your plate.
After years of trying differing methods of dealing with poached eggs, I opt to do it as seen on the Martha Stewart show, Cooking like a restaurant chef, Ina Gartein and Bobby Flay, and as demonstrated in the Joy of Cooking books. They are perfect and unbroken when they are placed on your plate, and they are not wallowing in an excess water.
