I am a HIlton Honors member that frequents Hampton Inns. We checked in on Friday afternoon and our room was fine albeit freezing because they had the air on so high. We turned it down and went to dinner. When we returned our room smelled as though someone had been in our room smoking a cigarette. I went down to the desk and complained as this is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. I was offered another room but it smelled worse of mildew. During the night you could smell smoke coming in through the bathroom vent fan. We complained again in the morning on Saturday. On Sunday morning we got a call asking if we were smoking in our room. We explained we had been the ones complaining about the smoke. This evening we came back after being gone all day and our room again stunk. The desk staff is less than helpful and doesn't notate anything. The desk attendant this evening inferred we were the ones smoking. I am so disappointed that I will contact Hilton about this less than pleasant experience. As a cancer survivor I am insulted to be accused of being the smoker by someone who hadn't been on duty for the entire weekend.
