Loved my stay at the Hampton Inn...it had the most comfortable bed. The room was beautiful and the staff very helpful. We checked the price there then drove around checking other hotels, how silly. The Hampton was the best value.

Stayed here 2 nights in August 2010, using it as a base to explore the Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood, etc. Reservations made through the Hilton Website, no problems with check in. Rate was a reasonable $89/night plus applicable tax. Room was large, on the 3rd floor, overlooking the parking lot. Nice touches were the fridge (no charge for use) and a nice (i.e. new, clean, all the usual fixtures) bathroom. Very clean, no issues there for our stay, in this room. We were right next to the elevator, which was an initial concern, but the rooms seem to be well-insulated and we were not disturbed at all by any noise (human or mechanical) during our stay. Free breakfast was fairly standard (the usual beverages, cold cereal, yogurt, self-made waffles, nicely made warm biscuits and bacon, etc.). Comfortable, pleasant, nothing spectacular hotel that is good for a night during a long trip or for a few days while exploring NE Portland/Columbia River Gorge. Would happily stay there again if business or pleasure took us to this part of Portland again.

This was my first stay at a Hampton Inn. I arrived for a late check-in at midnight on 12/15/10 after working all day and driving 4 hours to get to Portland. After getting into my room I settled in and took a shower to find the hair dryer was not working. I dismissed this as unfortunate and went to get into bed. By this time it was 12:45 AM and I had unpacked my belongings. I then turned down the comforter to find there were no linens or blanket on the bed. It was simply covered with the comforter and pillows. As it was late and I was tired, I was not prepared to wait even longer to get dressed, repack or wait for someone from housekeeping to come to my room to make up the bed. I decided to get into bed as it was as I had to get up within a few hours for work the next morning. When I went to the front desk in the morning to checkout and reported the problems with the room, the front desk clerk replied "I'll let housekeeping know" pretty much dismissing the incident as she knew I was only staying the one night. No sorry for the inconvenience - nothing. This is without a doubt my worst experience in a hotel and one that was also somewhat suprising considering that the Hilton brand is supposed to be one that epitomizes quality. That may be the case in many instances, but not one I experienced at the Hampton Inn in Gresham, OR.

We had a nice stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the service was good. There was nothing outstanding in the way of this hotel, but we were only looking for a nice clean place to lay our heads and it met those standards. We would stay again.
