We stayed at this motel on our way through Grants Pass in Oct/11. We were travelling with our pooch, so we booked a dog friendly room (1108) with a little patio attached, which was a nice little extra. The front desk staff were very friendly and endeared themselves immediately to our dog by presenting her with a baggie of dog biscuits.
The room was had everything we needed - it was nice and clean, with tile floors throughout and a little kitchenette. The sink in the kitchenette doubled as the bathroom sink and the toilet and shower were in a separate room, which was quite roomy. There was a fan in the bathroom, which is always a plus in my book! Shower was great - good water pressure, nice and hot. The room smelled a little harsh when we got there - because it was a pet room, there were a lot of air fresheners in there. But once we unplugged and moved them outside, it was perfect.
There was a large flatscreen TV mounted in the corner of the room with plenty of channels to choose from - very nice after a long, crazy drive. The bed was insanely comfortable - might be too soft for some, but it was just right for us. I know for sure that we had at least one other person staying in the next room but we didn't hear a thing all night - it was very quiet.
The pet area is indeed mainly gravel, but nice pea gravel, and it does have a few nice bits landscaping for dogs like mine, who mainly likes to sniff trees and shrubs. Having it right outside our door was super handy for early morning and late night bathroom breaks. The pet area isn't entirely enclosed, and our dog enjoys running into busy streets, so we kept ours on leash - but there was certainly room for a ball-chasing type of dog to enjoy a good run.
I don't imagine we'll be passing through Grants Pass again anytime soon, but if we did, we would certainly book here again. Love a pet-friendly place!
Room Tip: If you bring your pooch, Room 1108 is right next to the pet area and has its own cute little patio.
