We stayed at this hotel on the last night of a 3 week road trip. Did not make advance reservations because we were coming from Reno and were not sure what the weather would be and if we could get to Grants Pass. We had originally planned to try the LaQuinta Inn as their prices and TA ratings were somewhat better, but did find it until the following morning.
We are Priority Club members and this Holiday Inn Express had good TA ratings so we decided to check in because it was getting late. I handed the desk clerk my Priority Club card and asked for their best rate--noting that we were AAA and AARP members. The best she could come up with was $110 AAA. That seems a little steep for Grants Pass, mid-week, late in the day, in the middle of November. We weren't offered any Priority Club benefits, except that the next morning we were given a couple bottles of water.
There are four restaurants very close by, just a short walk, so that was a plus. On the way to dinner, we noticed that the pool is shared with the Best Western next door. Even in the summer I'm not sure I'd want to parade through the lobby, across the parking lot, and down two flights of stairs to go swimming.
The hotel is basic Holiday Inn Express with a good breakfast and the standard amenities. My husband did try the pancake maker, that's something we had not come across before--it was quite good.
Although the hotel is quite close to I-5, we were not bothered by the freeway noise.
