I cannot vouch for the other condos, but stay away from Pacific View V467. It had petrified Cheezits under one headboard, sticky knobs in the kitchen, what must have been catastrophic water damage poorly covered, cleaning chemicals/perfume so bad you HAD to leave the room, spots (one nasal discharge, two who knows) on sheets and bedspreads (wondered if this ground floor unit has been used hourly.....).

This is one of the few pet units, so we took a chance three years later that they had cleaned it up. Nope. It was worse. The room was about 54 degrees, too, when we got there, probably to mute the odor until we got our luggage in. We had to wash everything we touched just in case. One of the chairs had what I hope was spilled food in the crevices. Snot on the queen bedspread. The spare blankets were things we take to the dump, and we are not high-income folks.

We paid $285 for two nights, stayed one, wide awake on oldy mattresses (even the dog was freaked) and left at 4:45. The office didn't even inquire, but ensured we knew "we would be charged another night." They know! The place must be in foreclosure or something, baiting the unsuspecting.....or they just don't care.

They DID get a new microwave (old one was the first one ever made and didn't work at all). This one, as well as the fridge door, didn't open the right way. Heck, for what we paid and a little elbow grease it could be made reasonable. But no, someone doesn't WANT customers. The pool was warm and, thank goodness, heavily chlorinated. We didn't dare take showers in the unit.

One toilet appeared to be on the brink of falling to the folks below. Towels are thin. Maybe this is what you get for having a pet (who was cleaner, by the way, than the room). I got the feeling the two times (check in, check out) I interrupted the registrar I was perhaps interrupting computer Solitaire and it was a bother. The older cleaning lady was really nice, gave us towels, etc., not her fault where she's employed.

We stayed at the large unit across the street from the charming photo that is featured in the typical advertisment photos for Gearhart By the Sea. This one is a boxy looking building with out any charm that overlooks the ocean. So, the view is nice, inspite of being quite far back from the ocean front and having a number of buildings between the ocean and the hotel, and we did have a large balcony. The units feel like they were built quite some time ago and have not been updated. The good news is that they are fairly spacious and not very expensive. We stayed in one that said it slept ten, but actually it would be more comfortable for six. McMinimum's restaurant was right across the street, so that was a convenient benefit.

Apparently the maids have a great gig....cleaning is optional. The room was so dirty and even though it was brought to the attention of the main office, it was not addressed. The room, 401, had great potential but everything in the unit was sticky. The furniture had stains everywhere, the leather sofa had spills all over it & the chair had sand all over the seat upon our arrival. It was still there after the maids 'cleaned'. There was a beer bottle cap on the family room carpet upon our arrival that leads me to believe the room wasn't vacuumed before our stay. The bathrooms had spatters of ? on the back splashes. All of the dining chairs were dirty. The list goes on.
Again, it's too bad, the place could be great. It looked like it had been updated but I can't recommend it based on the condition. We don't require fancy but we do require clean. It isn't optional.
Did love the Sand Trap. Great service and great food.

This unit is pet-friendly (we have a small dog) and very well maintained. The courtyard and side windows were awesome, it felt like we were staying in a house! The pool was clean and well kept. We also liked the decor of this unit.
