A warm and wonderful B & B in a quiet residential location. We walked to the U of O , the Saturday market and other places throughout Eugene. Great hospitality from Nicole (one of the owners and chef) and Nancy ( who works there). Delicious breakfast and an inviting room with a a big modern bathroom. Loved the window in the shower that looked out over a beautiful tree. Nice touches throughout the B & B, you won't be disappointed.

I stay at the Oval Door regularly on my business trips to Eugene. It provides a fantastic mix of practical (wireless Internet, located near downtown, flexible breakfast hours, coffee in the hallway) and pleasant (nice rooms with antique furniture and room to move, fresh cookies every evening, fantastic breakfasts at the table with fellow travelers, nice owners/staff). In my mind, this is what an Inn should be.

This was nice addition to our trip. Nice location off the highway. Great off street parking with security camera's. (not that they are needed, but some people worry)
Helpful staff and Great neighbors, as we had a member of our team get a dog bite and have to go to hospital.
Rooms were very clean and had separate bathrooms that were also very clean. I can be a clean freak.. and do not like to be tired from trip and find dirty rooms.. This was not the case.
I have only stayed in a few bed and breakfasts.. and this was such a nice experience we will be doing alot more of this.

During a recent visit to Eugene, we stayed at the Oval Door. One of the most unusual and cool things about this place is that both innkeepers have a background in the culinary arts. We went with an idea to go and eat (last time we visited, we couldn't help but notice you're spoiled for choice for great places to eat in Eugene). So -- having no prior knowledge - (except from the EUGENE magazine) we ventured to Eugene and were incredibly lucky to have been able to pick the brain of innkeeper Nicole. Nicole was an incredible wealth of knowledge about restaurants, she gave us so many tips we'll have to returns at least half a dozen times in order to be able to try all the places she recommended. Nicole knows her stuff, we were not disappointed!

We also visited the Cascades Raptor Center (great place if you are interested in raptors), and went for a walk on the Riverwalk path and visited the rose garden (which Nicole had suggested).

The Oval Door is friendly, clean and the food on offer for breakfast is FANTASTIC. Really a great place. My only complaint? The bed was really hard. But otherwise, it was really a great time. I'd return.
