“Pet owners beware”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2007

We checked in late at night to the hotel and the front desk person was friendly and even gave us a blanket and some treats for our dog. After returning from getting a quick bite to eat after a long drive our dog was not in our room. The front desk worker had removed our dog himself without contacting us due to our dog barking. They left no messges on the room phone or any other phone letting us know what was going on. We were gone for less than an hour. Upon check in they did not tell us that we could not leave the dog in the room un-attended nor did they have us sign anything that stated we would leave the dog in the room. Upon making our reservation we told them that the reason for our stay was for the football game and even then nobody told us! My dog received a nasty cut underneath his eye during the incident. Best Western has made no effert to admit wrongdoing and I will never ever stay there again. If you are a dog STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

“The kids loved seeing a racoon!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2007

This is an above average Best Western. The room was spotless, the beds mediocre but clean and the bathroom spotless but small. The breakfast is a simple continental, with boiled eggs(a touch I like).

The best part of the stay was looking out the balcony to the "creek" and seeing a racoon. My kids loved that. A small treat in such a populated area.

“It wasn't bad at all”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2007

I recently stayed here on a road trip from CA to WA. Looking at the TripAdvisor ratings, it seemed like the best of what was available.

The pluses:

It was clean and seemed well maintained.

It had a pool and a spa tub.

The TV (AND the remote) worked well.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

The price was very reasonable and they gave me a discount for being a AAA member.

Close to OSU campus (literally across the street) though that wasn't why I was there.

Walking distance to 2-3 decent restaurants and a grocery store.

The minuses:

Really only two and they were just not my preference:

The bed is very hard - that inexpensive motel type of bed, feels like plywood with a sheet over it. People who like a hard bed might like this fine.

The free continental breakfast was the kind that is mostly cereal, pastries, instant hot cereal, golf-ball-like hardboiled eggs, weak coffee, etc. Some people like it. The only breakfast place close by was closed. So I checked out, got on the freeway (which is handily not very far away yet not close enough to keep you awake at night) and got off at the next exit where there were some gas stations, Denney's etc.

Overall, it's not a bad place to stay.

“Awesome stay for 2 weeks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2007

Our family of 4 stayed here for 2 weeks. We were treated so well. The rooms are clean and well kept. Quiet surroundings, and lovely staff. Very accomodating. It is easily accessible to the U of O (right across the street) and there is a health food store across the street as well as a good Chinese restaurant (House of Chen) nearby. We would stay here again in a minute, and this made our experience and vacation totally worthwhile. My requirements for a hotel were: continental breakfast, pool, 2 queen beds, a refrigerator, microwave and wifii. This hotel fit our needs well. I highly recommend it.

“Loved It”

I came in on a late flight from Alaska. The Hotel had a cab waiting for me. When I arrived at the Hotel, I was pleased with a friendly greeting. Within a short time I was in my room and ready to relax. This is the second time I've been able to enjoy a very affordable and handy location. FIVE STARS!
