“I'd rather sleep outside, downwind from a slaughterhouse, paper mill, or landfill.”

If the smell of the place doesn't make you want to vomit (it will), take a closer look at the bedding. Too many pubes per square inch for my taste, so I ended up throwing the bedding on the floor and sleeping in my sleeping bag on top of my sleeping pad on the bed. I probably should've added another layer to protect the sleeping pad. Going barefoot is not an option here. If given the choice, I'd rather enforce the 5-second rule in a Tijuana taxi than eat off the floor of the Nite Inn. Avoid this dump at all costs if you still have a sense of dignity or even a sense of smell.

Room Tip: Keep driving.

“Aweful Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

I understand we were looking for something cheap but I stayed at the BW for not much more money and it was much nicer. The front desk person was extremely rude and you can hardly understand him. Rooms were dirty with hair and mold in bathtub. Desk drawers were broken and falling out. AC was froze up because the filter was so dirty. My husband pulled out the filter and it began to work. The small refridgerator under bathroom sink was old dirty and iced over so it was not working properly either. This was a horrible experience. Fortunatly we only needed the room for one night on our way out of town.

Room Tip: Dont book this hotel

“The motel where hope goes to die.”

The one good thing I can say was that the people at the front desk were very friendly and personable. But once we got past check-in, the entire rest of the stay was an absolute nightmare.

We had dressy clothes because we were there to attend a graduation, but there was no place to hang them up. There also was no power outlet in the bathroom, so I had to use an outlet out in the room, standing in the bathroom doorway trying to see myself in the tiny bathroom mirrow (there was no other mirror in the room).

There was some kind of water leak in the bathroom--in the wall behind the bathtub faucet, I think--and it was coming up into the carpet in the room as well as through the floor tiles in the bathroom. Walking from the carpeted room into the bathroom, we were tracking mud from somewhere (was the carpet REALLY that filthy??)

The lighting in the room was terrible, and the bed had a sag in the middle that meant it was impossible to keep the bedding in place and sleeping was difficult and uncomfortable.

There also seemed to have been some people there who were living in some of the other rooms, evidently because they had nowhere else to go. There was a van filled with someone's worldly possessions, a trailer covered with a tarpaulin, a car up on blocks.

We booked the room from Priceline.com, and they said nothing about it being this horrible. Plus which, to make matters worse, we ended up paying $150 for a two-night stay in a tiny, filthy, dingy, uncomfortable room with a soggy floor!

Never. Again.

  • Liked — The front office people were quite friendly and personable.
  • Disliked — Everything else.

“Nite-mare Inn Motel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2008

Nite-mare Inn Motel is more like it. I booked on Hotwire so I didn't know what I was getting until I had paid for it. I had booked a great place the night before through Hotwire so thought I would take another chance. I was travelling home after a business trip and only wanted a cheap clean place, because I was back on the road at 6:00 a.m.

This place looked bad on the outside & was worse on the inside. I couldn't get the door open & the key broke in the lock. The bed smelled moldy. I got a shock from the bathroom light switch. I took a shirt out of my suitcase to put over the pillow (I have nevr done that before). After laying on the bed for an hour, I was covered in bug bites. The manager offered to give me a different room, but I decided to leave & found a better place up the road for $5.00 more.

Because, I had booked through Hotwire, the motel couldn't refund me. I had to go through Hotwire and they only credited me in Hotwire $$ wich I am not sure I will use again. I have never left a place without spending the night, but it was not worth my health or safety to save a few bucks.

  • Disliked — Left with bug bites.

“Nice place for the price tag”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2007

I have to say when we pulled up in front of the Nite Inn, I was a little put off by the shady look it had, and the "shady" people hanging around. But the rooms were extremely clean, with a big bathroom and comfortable bed. I was very pleased with the staff as the room was kept cleaner than most other budget motels I've stayed in. Great deal!
