“Can't believe I paid $63 for this room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2005

Carpet was stained and smelly, towels very rough from being washed so much, shower curtain annoying, small shower, took forever for hot water to arrive in shower, and then took 10 seconds for any further temperature adjustments to take effect. Mattress wasn't very comfortable. Path down to swimming pool was "scary". In general, grounds were just not well kept.

Breakfast was fine, clerks were nice, complimentary fresh baked cookies.

Room had bed, two drawers, basic cable, (loud) heater/AC. No small refridgerator or microwave.

Would have been ok as a budget hotel except there were others down the street with rooms for $35.

“Just Plain Terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2005

The room was small, smelly, and dingy. It was also terribly dirty, ranging from pieces of dried mud all over the floor to the unclean bathroom. Interestingly, the soap dish was held to the wall with electrical tape.

My advice - don't stay here.

“Probably won't stay here again.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2005

We go to Eugene, OR every year in April, and have stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites twice now. Our room this time was quite large, but was located just off the parking lot closest to the highway, so we heard traffic noise all night. The walls are quite thin and it sounded like the people above us were have a square dance, which lasted until well after 2 a.m. My husband and I both almost fell in the shower because the floor of the shower is slick when it gets soap on it. There is nothing on the shower floor to keep you from slipping. The dresser in the room looked like a 4-drawer dresser, but the bottom two drawers were fake. The drawer on the nightstand was also fake. The beds were like sleeping on the floor they were so hard and the pillows aren't much better. We both had aching backs in the morining after sleeping on those beds. The pluses are that the room was clean and the housekeeping was adequate. The hotel staff are very pleasant and this is a pet-friendly hotel, which is the main reason we stay there. I think we'll look for a little bit more upscale pet-friendly place in Eugene to stay next year, however.

“Didn't like the housekeeping”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2005

We had reserved and prepaid two rooms (same specs and price for each), one for us and one for guests that were travelling with us. Upon arrival we were registered into two rooms. When we got there we noticed that our guests were checked into a room considerably larger than ours. Moreover our room had the most soiled carpeting I personally have encountered at any hotel/motel I have ever stayed at. Both rooms had some cobwebs evident where ceilings and walls met. When we requested a change of room to something to one with at least a cleaner carpet, the front desk obliged. (Incidentally, the hair dryer switch did not work properly in the replacement room, and one had to keep one finger on the switch while the other hand manipulated the dryer. Also, we had to take the coffee maker out of the bathroom, set it on a chair, and plug it into the wall in the bedroom in order to get it to work). Front office staff was good, but the housekeeping and maintenance standards need serious tweaking.

“Not Up to The Comfort Family's Standards”

Things have really gone downhill at this once attractive property. The restaurant has declined and the rooms weren't as clean as they could be. I'm a frequent guest in Eugene but I won't be going back here.
