My husband and I along with my girlfriend and husband bought vouchers from Groupon to stay at the Village Green Resort this last summer 2011. The place was so misrepresented for the rooms we were given were from the original date the place was built back in the 60's sometime with absolutely no updates including the carpets. They make you think you are going into rooms with nostalgia and charm when in truth they are so filthy with dust we couldn't even breath without the windows open....which by the way had no screens on them. The new and remodeled portion of the resort was very nice but don't stay in the old section. The lodge was beautiful which immediately excited us but after seeing the rooms and smelling the dust....seeing all the junk that was on the carpet including visible dirt, we knew we were in for a less then quality stay. Their breakfast was fine and the pool was surprisingly clean. I might add....don't bother expressing your disappointments to the management for they claim to be sorry and interested in making things better but never do. We were careful when expressing the problems we found as to not let others hear which they said they appreciated and then told them we can write our names in the dust on the louvered doors if they questioned our complaints but nothing got anybodies attention. My girlfriends shower had been backing up from a plugged drain which was also reported and nothing came of that either. Needless to say...........we will never go back

This place should not be called a resort by any means, it's just a motel, situated between a WalMart and the freeway.
The food was terrible, a pork loin that was dry and hard, and the Beef Stroganoff was tough bits in a bland sauce. The warm breakfast was a total joke, the only warm item was diy waffles, and the rest was of the most basic and low cost nature.
The welcome strawberries in the room where white, and the promised champagne turned out to be Cooks.
I'll never dream of going back there.

I have been in hospitality for some years and when you walk into the lodge area there was no one to greet you. When we went to the bar it took more than 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order. I did order a coffee drink and it was cold should not of been. Our dinner the meat part was good but the potatoes were cold. The room was wonderful. I loved the patio and the little chairs. very nice. But the service was so not good enough so say I would be back. When you thought you found some one that worked for the hotel you still were not sure since no one wore uniforms. The pool had not been winterized and at the bottom of the pool were worms. Just not sure about that.

I bought a two night stay for my parents on the Living Social site. They LOVED it! They had a wonderful dinner, nice room, they had nothing but good reviews for the dinner, their service, the staff and their room.
My turn is this weekend - so we will see how that goes!
