This was the 'half way point 'on our drive back to Vancouver form San Fancisco. We discovered this great hotel after being disappointed with the designated 'pet room' , dog smell and traffic noise ( as the access to the rooms is outside) and a not so helpful staff member in the Comfort Inn close by. This was a great spot, with no designated 'pet room' and we were accommoated near the front door so the pooch could easily be taken in and out. The rooms were inside. The staff member was very friendly. The room was lovely, beds VERY comfortable and several restaurants that you could easily access close by. Recommend this hotel +++++++

We were on the return leg of a holiday road trip from Arizona to Seattle and happened to land at the Holiday Inn Express in Cottage Grove. We were traveling with two greyhounds, so finding a pet room was the priority. We were able to map our our trip in advance of leaving so we went ahead and made reservations online with our room.

Upon arrival, we discovered that we were the only scheduled reservation for the evening. The front desk clerk was personable, if a bit bored, and made a nice dinner recommendation to the town diner for our dinner.

Our pet room was absolutely adequate, clean and neat...your average motel room. The room had a fridge, which was very convenient as we were traveling with holiday leftovers and goodies.

We've had good luck with the Holiday Inn Express chain and would recommend them to anyone road-tripping throughout the West coast.

This property is right off the interstate 5. The rooms were a little below average - the property seemed a little "tired". There is a little fitness center and pool. They served a continental breakfast which was well stocked. If you're looking for dinner, there are several fast food restaurants next door.

Given the choice I would probably look for another property.

This appears to be an older property that predates today’s version of a Holiday Inn Express. I surmised that from the crowded parking lot, the lack of an elevator, and the tiny little bathroom. The usual accouterments are present including the signature breakfast bar, wireless Internet, morning newspaper, etc. The limited number of tables in the breakfast area didn’t matter since I was the only one eating at 8:00 a.m. I saw a few guests loading up some breakfast trays, but I’m not sure how comfortable that is with only a coffee table back in the room.

The indoor pool, spa, and exercise room are nice and probably a later addition to the original building. Although the motel was dated, the room was in good condition, clean, and with plenty of room to accommodate a couch, microwave and refrigerator. I especially liked the new desk chair with vertical adjustment and the electric outlets located above the work area for easy access. This is the second time this week I’ve noticed the lack of a traditional bedspread, which is okay by me. Knowing that hotels rarely wash the heavy bed covers it seemed cleaner and more sanitary.

This location fit my travel plans, but in the future I would probably choose the Holiday Inn Express in Roseburg that is a superior hotel at the same price, or maybe stay in nearby Eugene. There isn’t a lot of choice in Cottage Grove.
