“Great for pets”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

Nice and helpful girl at the front desk. House keeping is doing a great job of cleaning. Fenced area for pets. Nice breakfast, good shower, and easy location. Large room and acceptable furnishings. I will stay again mainly due to price and pet policy.

Maintenance and grounds crews need a kick in the back side. Ice machine near our room not functioning. Exterior paint condition is just unacceptable for anything but a run down drug house. Grounds look badly neglected.

It would not take much $ or time to make this facility look far better and fix a few maintenance issues.

“only if ya can't find Days Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

I stayed here after circling around the Days Inn for an hour, and I'm a former Army soldier, don't get lost much...anyway, it was fair, and they were nice. Avoid the Gustav's lounge on property and go accross to McMehin's for a nice local pub.

Room Tip: get a room near the pool for a good time, avoid if noise is an issue.

“Despite some flaws, a good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

Some negative things that can be said about this hotel:

1. The grounds are not well kept
2. The buildings are in need of a fresh coat of paint.
3. The noise from the nearby freeway and on-ramp was noticeable from our room
4. Thin, squarish pillows on the beds
5. 80's era room interior
6. The ice machine in our hall was out-of-order

The positives:

1;. Helpful and friendly staff
2. Very clean room
3. Large bathroom with a great a shower head.
4. Nice morning breakfast

I would give this place 2 1/2 rating, if this site allowed for it. Instead I rounded-up to a "3".

If you are looking for an affordable place to sleep, you could certainly do worse.

Thank you for your comments. We should have our ice machine fixed by the end of the week.
We do pride ourselves in our outstanding customer service and most our staff have been here for 2+ years, All of our rooms do have the same shower head. Our Breakfast included hard-boiled eggs, waffles, fruit, various breads and pasteries along with 2 coffees and 4 juices and glad to hear you thought it was nice aswe strive to do our best for everyone.

Please feel free to call call me the next time you are in town

“Very disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2011

We stayed here for two nights while on business in Portland. Thankfully, we only needed the room for sleep and showers. The staff was pleasant, and the parking ample, but the Inn itself was dated, in need of serious updating and maintenance. The bed in the room was comfortable, but no bed pillows were included, instead there were 4 or 5 small 'decorative' style pillows on the bed. Two of the major drawbacks were the noise from the freeway and the strong musty smell of the bathroom. The bathroom smelled badly! The tub didn't drain and the caulking around it was deteriorating and in need of fixing. Sorry to say it but the 'breakfast' was horrible. Everything from the syrup to the milk and juices was so watered down it was tasteless and runny. Disgusting! I would not stay here again unless there were no other places in the area - I would spring for the extra bucks and go elsewhere.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere

“Time For New Carpet, Paint, and Linens”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

First, let me start with the positives.... The staff were extremely friendly, the hotel lobby was nice and fresh and the included continental breakfast was very nice...with some nice choices. I also would say the location is great, other than it being so close to freeway that you do hear the cars.

Now for the negative and areas that lack and need much help..... The hotel grounds (flowers, grass and hedges) are in serious need of attention. The first room they gave me had a very strong and unacceptable smell of dog. I personally feel that they need to reserve animal rooms to specific rooms and only put people in them that have animals. The room has had extremely stained carpet....way too many stains, that gave me the icky feeling of dirty....very dirty.

I did call the front desk immediately and asked..."is this a room that has allowed animals?" She was very sweet and said that she doesn't think any animals had been in there for a while. Which means that they have been.

I did ask for a different room and she very kindly said that would be fine and asked if I needed any help with the luggage.

The second room did not seem to have as strong of a pet smell but still had a "musty.... not fresh" smell also; but I did not complain as it seemed obvious that all the rooms were probably just as dated inside and in need of new carpet/linens and decor.

What I find irritating, is that if you were to just look in the front lobby....you would assume the hotel is updated and fresh. Not the case......as the fresh smell and look ends in the lobby.

I almost feel bad writing this, as the personnel are all so kind, but even with that.....I would not stay again. The rooms just give you an "ICK" feeling.

I would like start by thanking you for your comments. I will make sure that my staff reads this as you have given them some wonderful comments and we appreciate our guest noticing how much we love our jobs and want every guest to have a pleasant stay.
Thanks for your comment on our breakfast, we like our breakfast too.
We do have rooms that are dedicated to pets only and am sorry that you may have gotten one of those rooms at first.

We take all of our comments seriously and will look into the carpets and our grounds. Again thank you and feel free to call me next time you are in town.
