We have stayed here many times, for personal trips and high school band trips. This was a weekend getaway for us. The rooms are always comfortable, nice beds (this trip was an exception - that bed was uncomfortable. Room 408 if you must know!), but no refrigerator or microwave - common at Courtyard properties.
The place has undergone a chain-wide lobby remodel with more of a snack bar rather than the restaurant that used to be there. Which is OK, since within a 10-minute walk (or a 90-second drive) you will find a handful of "destination" restaurants such as Old Spaghetti Factory, Macaroni Grill, and Claim Jumper. My favorite is still Chevy's.
The Clackamas Town Center Mall (I believe it is the largest in Oregon at 180 stores) is right there, as well. A 90-second drive to the west of the hotel will find you at Costco (and their Food Court). A few miles to the west via OR224 and OR99E is the Sellwood district - antique shops and a Columbia Sportswear outlet. A few miles south is historic Oregon City, 10 miles or so due east is Boring (the town, not a description) and access to US26 and Mount Hood. Much more to see, and this makes a great base camp.
