“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

My husband and I have stayed at the Brookside Inn several times in the past year. I really can't say enough positive things about it! The setting is very ideal...beautiful forest, pond and natural landscaping. Both buildings and all rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated with high quality local furnishings. The rooms are spacious and each have their own bathroom. The breakfast is always outstanding! The location in the heart of Oregon's wine country is perfect for visiting local wineries and the beautiful countryside. I think our favorite thing about the Brookside Inn has been Bruce and Susan, our fabulous hosts. They have been so genuine, friendly and sincere as well as knowledgeable about local wine, food and entertainment. Always a pleasure to have a glass of wine on the porch!

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful! Two rooms have king-sized beds.

“B&B......REFINED”

After searching through numerous B&B's (Some never even returned our call) to get married at in September 2011, we finally decided on Brookside Inn for many reasons, mainly the wonderful adn peaceful surroundings. We also liked the fact that they request that you rent the entire property for the weekend (as we did) to ensure you dont feel rushed to have to leave so someone else can set up there wedding in a few hours (like some in the area we heard horror stories about) They let us choose our own caterers, music, wedding ceremony, etc. There were no rules to have to abide to (except to be respectful)

Your ceremony and reception were the ultimate in what Brookside Inn is all about. Comfort, relaxation, celebration! I can't wait to see the pictures, so I can add them to the wedding gallery on our website.

Your celebration was the first wedding hosted in the autumn months. The harvest bounty of food, autumn flowers, evening sky, and wonderfully cool temperature made it the best ever at Brookside Inn.

Thank you both so much.

“Perfect Getaway, Centrally Located to Wine Country”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

For the third year in a row we enjoyed a long weekend at the Brookside Inn. The food is fabulous, the rooms are wonderful, clean and comfy. We stay here because it is centrally located to so many fabulous wineries and views; but in a very quiet and restful spot. We were in crowds all day and then came back to retreat in front of a fire. This visit they hosted a special wine dinner - fabulous food, great wine and all in the warm and cozy great room. We actually live only about forty minutes away - but for us the stay at Brookside Inn is a must; and is now a Thanksgiving Tradition. Innkeeper Susan is knowledgeable about the area and makes wonderful suggestions for wineries to visit and places to dine. In previous visits we've enjoyed walking around the property - but so far the weather has not been conducive to the firepit! Maybe next visit...

I look forward to your arrival next Thanksgiving. Maybe a private dinner, so you can enjoy the ambiance and food and wine pairings with friends.

Thank you both for returning to Brookside Inn for Thanksgiving weekend every year.

“We never stay anywhere else.”

We've been traveling to the Pacific Northwest and particularly Oregon for the last 20 years. Three years ago, we discovered the Brookside Inn and we've never stayed anywhere else since then.

Everything about that place is magical. The rooms are lovely and clean and the beds are more comfortable than the one we have at home. The food is amazing. The "feel" of the place is as comfortable as any home I've ever been in and the grounds are lovely. From welcoming us when we arrive to breakfast the next morning, the host is warm and helpful and we've never wanted for anything while we're there.

Susan is more than just an innkeeper, we consider her to be a friend. Thanks to the Bandstras, we were able to meet with winemakers and find fantastic restaurants. In fact, after having stayed at the Brookside just once, we made the decision to move to the Willamette Valley area after we retire. I can't think of a more wonderful place to live.

I recommend the Brookside Inn to anyone I know who's going to that part of the country.

Room Tip: There isn't a bad room in the place. There is, however, only one with a king-sized bed, the rest...

Thank you my friend. I so much enjoy when you come for a visit. Good wine, lots of laughter. Hope to see you again soon. I am "researching" for the next Wine Club shipment already.

“Dog lover too....but”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Lovely looking from inside and out, BUT the very wet dog smell was too much. As someone in the hospitality industry you must be aware of atmosphere having large dogs will create. What would you do if a guest showed up with allergies? We love dogs but having our room in the main house the very strong odor of wet dog was present even on the second floor. I could see how much you love your dogs, BUT please do something about the smell. And by the way should dogs be in your kitchen?

We recently hired a consultant to evaluate the rooms and common areas at Brookside Inn as a result of the issues mentioned on Trip Advisor. It is true, the longer you are exposed to something, the less you are aware of the impact on others.

As a result of the evaluation, flooring in the great room is being replaced, walls are being resurfaced, and other policies are being set to avoid any further issues regarding our Newfoundlands.

We all love our pets, but that is no excuse to expose others to that love.
