Husband & I just returned from our first overnight stay in Cannon Beach (a Saturday in mid-February). We took advantage of an e-blast special sent by Hallmark and had a delightful time! The best part about our stay was THAT VIEW! I knew the inn's location, but it's not 'til you enter your room and see Haystack Rock looming in the distance that the majesty really sinks in. We couldn't get enough of simply sitting on our balcony looking at the scenery. If you plan on spending any length of time relaxing in your room, get one with a view of Haystack Rock.
Our room itself was a bit dated (looked like the late 1970's) but all in working order and very clean. The queen size Murphy bed reminded me of my studio in the West Village - those contraptions are pure genius for saving space. We didn't avail ourselves of the amenities of the resort (pool, spa, laundry, etc.), so I can't comment on those, but the gentleman at the front desk at check-in recommended Wayfarers (on the property) and Castaways Tini Tiki Hut (at the north end of town) and both were excellent - thank you!!! Both have extensive, interesting cocktail lists. The resident seagull paid us a visit on our balcony. There's a nice lighted staircase leading down to the beach with a few viewing platforms along the way.
We look forward to returning.
