“worst campground I've ever stayed at”

I won't exhaust you with details, I'll just chime in that the owners of this place are very rude, and I've never felt more swindled. I stayed once years ago and wasn't impressed - decided to give it another try on a recent trip.

Two travelers each wanting to put up a tiny solo tent.. they demanded $30 each for basically a tiny patch of gravel, and gave plenty of attitude. The most we've ever payed for a tent spot in our lives, and at the same time the worst attitude we've received from hosts. Simply amazing.

“Most employees, especially owners, of this resort are incredibly rude!”

We have stayed in Cannon Beach every summer for 15 years. We choose Sea Ranch RV Park and Stables because we camp with a large group consisting of trailers and tents. The only other campground in Cannon Beach is a trailer only RV park. Otherwise, we'd stay there. Sea Ranch should be fairly complimented for their clean facilities, great bathrooms, well-kept areas and distance to the town and beach. Nice store and espresso stand, we have even taken advantage of their on-site masseuse. But every person there has been rude to us every single time we've stayed. It's as if they know they have a monopoly on the camping situation in this adorable, amazing town, and they can act however they want. Their prices are too high and too restrained to have such little customer service skills.

“Great Place, bunnies & weather”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2010

I read the reviews, they are old and quite negative. I agree with the ones who said planning in advance is necessary. They have great sites here, in the back in the trees. True the tent sites up front by the road are open and not private. That's where planning ahead comes in. We have stayed here for the past few years and have experienced polite staff with great senses of humor and a sense of pride in their work. The park is a few minutes from downtown CB and the beach. True when we have stayed in summer the place is crowded and people are very close together. It's that way in the majority of parks. We've stayed at parks where we can see in the RV next to us so that's the way it is. I've used the public bathrooms, they were clean. Not the Ritz Carlton but this is an RV park. At least we don't have to put quarters in for hot water. Watching the bunnies is great, there are elk, eagles, hawks, coyotes and in spring different species of birds by the jillions. Rather than sit around and complain about the facilities plan ahead, get out and enjoy what CB has to offer and then say hello to your close neighbor. People have interesting stories. Oh, and if you can see a play at the Coaster Theater it's a must!

“Horrible!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

This place must have changed owners because it is now overpriced and horribly run. First they tried to put us in a tiny slot right next to a cabin on a rediculously sloped piece of gravel. They have cut up the camping sites into tiny pieces (probably 80 spaces) to maximize their profits. Don't believe any positive feedback from this place as it must be the owners doing damage control.

They nickel and dime you every chance they get. Dogs are extra. More people are extra. We paid $40 for a single night. No electricity or water was available at our site, It was shut off. Get a hotel or sleep on the beach instead of this dump! Each lot used to be of decent size and have utilities. It is evident how much they divided up the old lots to double or triple the number of people they can cram in there. A load in a tiny washer costs $2.50 and a single cycle of a dryer costs $1.50. The sign telling you that they will lock you out at 8pm despite clothing in the machines illustrates their attitude toward customers.

Then they locked up the main shower room so that 40 people had to use two single toilet bathrooms where the liquid around the toilet drains directly into the shower area. These rooms are constantly wet. When I complained, the staff (one of them probably an owner) lied to me saying that there was not that many people there and quickly drove off. I counted 19 cars.

Trash was piled up inside the restroom and bathing building and stunk badly enough to attract wildlife at night. It was strewn about. It used to be a good place. Now it is similar to camping out in the middle of a city sidewalk.

“Last time we will be back”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2010

We called and reserved "full hook-ups" 2 months ago. Arrived and found no TV hookup. Rude office person said "we consider our full hooks are without TV". Seems to me you have to HOOK UP cable TV. What century do they live in , or just dishonesty to book others. We had been here before and had TV with asking for "full hook ups". The staff person wasn't helpful at all trying to move us to a site, just saying none available, no refund offer etc. If this is being picky considering we are here for 5 days, then nobody is picky, We had concerns with other stays here with over changing and petty fees (not including an 8% tax that they have no control over). Less than helpful... but they were sure quick to say when their store openned. Also over priced. But never needed it. They have lost a good customer and will stay across the way where we have before we liked it here for 5 times in the future... but back to the other place in the future. NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE and at $181 for 5 nights... no value, quality or service.
