“Recommended for budget travelers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

There are times when all I need is a clean, quiet room, and this motel fits that bill nicely. It has the added advantage of being right next to two restaurants touted by locals as good steak houses. This property is an older one that has seen a number of different owners and names. It is an "L-shaped" building, and rooms on the side back from the office are a little quieter. The bed was a little harder than I prefer, but better too hard than too soft, in my opinion. Breakfast is basic. This place is nothing fancy, but it has great prices, and the managers are very nice.

Room Tip: Rooms toward the back will be quieter.

“Days Inn is "days out"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

This should be called "Days Motel" because it looks like a renovated motel of Burns. From the outside, it is totally outdated. Looks like Days Inn, Corporation (or a local owner) spent a little money and time to renovate this old property. I was a bit fooled by the professional photo on Traveladvisor which looks so good (maybe that is why it's a night shot!), but once you pull-in, you feel like you stepped back in time! It is a typical motel where you park in an "L" shape, so the noise from the parking lot is loud. And, in this town, there are plenty of vehicles without mufflers or diesels and slamming doors which get you up early in the morning, but then again this is a motel, right, not hotel? We stayed on the second floor which helped only slightly (no headlights in the window on the 2nd floor, so relief, but not much). Highway 20 is just outside the property, so you will hear the trucks going by for sure. Our room was adequate, but very basic. It looks like a renovated motel of some other previoulsy unknown name. Very simple soaps and shampoo, old towels that were very worn - really! (only two small bath towels), and a bathtub had seen better days and the water went down very slowly (plugged up drain pipe most likely). Mini frig with microwave, medium sized t.v. (the ones with the big behind - this is a Burns motel), average Queen sized bed, not much to say beyond that. Breakfast? Hmm...maybe that was an "after thought" or something the owners have to provide to Days Inn guests. I won't recommend to anyone, unless you get Motel 6 prices, and you are used to such accomodations. Then again, this is Burns, Oregon, in the middle of nothing. On the positive side, there is a Safeway within 5 mins walk, but could not find a Walmart (ha!). Since we drove nearly 7 hours across the wilderness of Hwy 20, we just needed a place to sleep and that's about it from this Days Inn of days of old....I missed taking pictures of those old rundown gas stations in Harper, maybe this motel fits right in with them. I hope not all Days Inn are like this one!

Room Tip: Go elsewhere, or take a room far away from the office. I think they just put everyone close together...

“Good place to stop in Burns”

Hit Burns about dark after a week of rafting. Nice to have a clean bed & hot shower.
The front desk gave good advice for pizza delivery.
