“Just ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

We arrived very late and passed serveral no vacancy signs before we finally stopped here.
It was a good price so we decided to stay.

The beds were ok but the room looked very dated. A closer look revealed that the smoke detector was smashed in and that the small balcony door did not close completely.

Stayed the the rooms across from reception on the otherside of the motel. So no carports there.

“Dark Sad Stay somewhere else”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

We took a road trip down the coast. Before stopping in Brookings, we checked out reviews on TA and this place sounded OK. When we checked in it was pouring rain so we thought the carports at the front doors would be a great plus. That was the last nice touch. The room was old, not quaint, and because of the carports, very dark and cave like. We tried to connect to the Wifi and called the owner at the front desk for password. She stated we had to come to the office to get it. The code was literally 40 letters, numbers and symbols (they were afraid of "hackers")! We could not get into the internet and neither could the owner. That was the last straw. We asked for our money back, left and went down the road to a better rated motel, Wild Rivers. What a difference for the same price...Bigger room, clean, open and Wifi.

Room Tip: Don't stay in the side rooms. The carports make them very dark and cave like.

sorry for that guest who got bad dark experience in this motel, the WIFI on this place is effected
to protect customer who uses for accessing business connection and avoiding hackers, etc.
the cable company advises us to use codes to avoid unauthorized downloading from any companies like movies and any place where information is limited to public, however we had
removed the codes to enable those customers to just surf the internet without hustle, by the
way the said WIFI code is only up to 126 bit 26 alpha numeric code, we don't know how to get
40 numbers as stated in the review. the carport is constructed by the original owners to make
the customers comfortable during rain or any falling things from above. the WIFI connections is
available to war drivers around the place. sorry if this reviewer don't know how to configure his
computer. when its night its really dark around before the lights come up.

“Good value for a basic room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

Rooms in Brookings were a bit pricier than I'd expected, so I picked this motel based on the room price/decent reviews balance. The room was good sized and everything was clean. The one odd thing I found was that there was no fan in the room. There was a thermostat but I couldn't get it to do anything in the limited amount of time I played around with it. I found it quiet in that it's set back from the main street a bit and the overhang covering the parking spots and your car probably block the noise a bit. Overall, this seems to be very good value for the area if you're passing through or looking for a plain room.

Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and does not does not smell like an old hotel and the rate is very reasonable. We will surely stay in this hotel next time we are in the Brookings area.

“Decent value, no frills hotel”

With no vacancies between gold beach and cresent city we made this pick as a last resort.
Staff was friendly and we took the last no smoking room. Upon entry it had the scent of a previously smoked in room.
Only 13 channels on the tv, no other amenities. However, what does one expect for 69 bucks before tax for 4 adults.
