My family just got back from spending one night at the Comfort Inn and Suites and we were very disappointed. We have stayed at other Comfort Inn's that were nice. This one is not so great.
We were travelling with our soccer team and arrived around 930pm to a cranky, impatient, and unprofessional front desk clerk (Joyce). She seemed very put out to have to help us and must have sighed loudly at least 10x while checking me in. When we booked the hotel, we were told that if we did not do well in the tournament that we could check out Saturday (even though we made reservations for two nights because we didnt know if we would still be in the tournement after Sat). As it was we knew we were not staying past Sat morning and told Joyce that we would be checking out. She stated that we would have to pay for the night anyway. She was relentless and acted like we were idiots for even asking to cancel the second night stating "there was nothing she could do". Fortunately the morning clerk, Robin, had some customer service skills and said we would not be charged and checked us out. Still checking bill to make sure we were not charged.
After we got to our room we noted that one of the roll away beds we reserved ahead of time was not in the room. I called the front desk and was told by Joyce (THE ONLY ONE WORKING FOR THE ENTIRE HOTEL) that she would bring it when she had a chance. 30 minutes later I caught her in the hallway as I was walking the kids to the pool. I took the bed and told her that we only had 2 towels in our room (for 6 people). She made me follow her to the second floor and then handed me two towels. When I told her I needed 2 more for 6 total she chastised me about not using them for the pool (They were out of towels at the pool) even though I had no intentions. She treated me like I was 6 years old. By the way the towels look like something my husband uses for shop rags. Trust me, they werent too good for the pool anyway!
Later in the evening I called the front desk to ask a question and the phone just rang and rang with no answer. It is ridiculous that management would have one clerk working when the hotel was booked solid (according to Joyce). She was trying to be house keeping, front desk clerk, pool attendant, etc.
Bottom line:
Old hotel - rooms are old and outdated (popcorn ceilings, bathrooms with old caulking/stains, old orange curtains, tube tv's with a fuzzy screen, lamps burnt out, etc)
Mattress old, sagging, and uncomfortable.
Breakfast - blah
Pool - very small - next to parking lot - warm (according to kids)
no hot tub
Unprofessional night clerk. Did not make me feel valued or welcomed.
Will not be staying at this place again.
