“It is ok for one night, on a budget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

Room had a slight body odor smell. I swear the queen bed was a full, I sleep on a queen bed at home, and I was hanging off of this one. Only stayed one night, liked having the full kitchen, but I would hate to have to stay more than one night. It was uncomfortable. They didn't give you shampoo- most hotels do this day and age, there was nothing to wash the dishes with. I stayed at the Shilo in Beaverton next time, less money, much better value. Its not dirty, noisy, so it was fine- I just won't be back

“very good experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

We stayed here for about 6 weeks while we had a baby in the intensive care unit at St Vincents. It was close to the hospital and a much better value than short term apartment rentals. It was also about the same price as family housing at the hospital, which does not have a kitchen. It was also so convenient to have a kitchen. The area of the hotel felt very safe, was quiet, and was very convenient to shopping and places for errands. The room did have a few problems when we moved in. However, when we asked for repairs, cleaning, etc. it was all done very quickly and very well. The front desk staff was great!!! Thank you all for the many ways you helped us.
Would definitely recommend the facility. If you have a problem, give the staff a chance to correct it. I understand from the staff that a major remodel is planned this coming year, which will address some of the wear and tear problems any older facility will have.

Room Tip: Agree that the corner rooms were the best for size and quietness.

“Cheap but Uncomfortable Stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

I chose to stay here for 3 months because the hotel was very close to Nike. This is a cheap place to stay, but thats about it. I wouldnt stay here again. My room was rather small and very uncomfortable. The bed was flimsy and sagging in the middle.

The fridge in the room made loud noises all the time. The plumbing in the bathroom also made loud noises intermitently. I lost a lot of sleep at night becasue of these various sounds. Housekeeping is mediocre. They dont do a through job cleaning.

The reception staff however were pleasant and helpful.

Stay somewhere else if you can.

“Pleasant Stay”

I was staying there for about 2 months and it was very accessible from my office. Also weekly cleaning was good. Near to Fred Meyers and Indian grocery shop. Near to IBM and NikeThis hotel is convenient as it is across the street from the company for which I was working. The staff is five stars! They are all excellent. However, the bed is hard as a rock. I'm glad I brought my own pillows as I need them for my back.

Room Tip: Choose the corner rooms. Corner Queen are also good size

“Affordable, but not great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

This hotel is convenient as it is across the street from the company for which I was working. The staff is five stars! They are all excellent. However, the bed is hard as a rock. I'm glad I brought my own pillows as I need them for my back. The cable television is among the worst from other hotels for which I've stayed in the same price range. The number and quality of channels is small. Showtime is offered, though.

As I didn't care for the TV, I downloaded and streamed TV shows and movies on my laptop. The charge of $4.99 for the duration of your stay is nominal. However, if you download and stream "too much" (don't know what constitutes "too much"), your internet privileges are taken away from you. I found that out by having to call their Internet Service call center when my internet access was down and was told by the front desk that their server was up. I have never heard of such a thing!

The maid comes in once a week on the day of your choice. Housekeeping is okay. Noticed that the bathroom floor was rarely cleaned during the weeks of my stay. You are responsible for doing your own dishes, etc. which is fine. This information is presented upfront. However, the bathroom and kitchen floor could be cleaned more often.

As this is an "extended stay" hotel, I would expect to have better selection of popular cable channels as well as be able to download and video stream without reservation. The downloads, by the way, are also among the slowest from other hotels for which I've stayed. Though the speed isn't as important to me, I would just like to be able to not have limitations.
