We love the charming features of this motel, built in the 1930's but upgraded very nicely. So much more interesting than the box-like rooms and architecture of places like Motel 6. Wonderful location, on a small bluff but right at the beach front, and you can see the beach and surf from the bed! All rooms have a view of the beach, and some units even have a second door on the beach side with a small deck or patio. Pets are not allowed in all rooms, and while this can be a plus for those that have allergies, we were traveling with a dog, and it limited our room selection. We were stuck with a room that had double beds (too small for us these days), and no outside door and patio on the ocean side which I really would have liked. The room was comfortable and clean, though the "kitchen" was marginal (small micro and fridg, placed in the only closet area, leaving little room for hanging things). The worst part, but not terrible, was there was a good bit of noise from the unit above transferred from above - mostly heavy footsteps from children, I think. I think I was a bit spoiled by having first looked at unit #1 (and I think there are several like it) that is much larger on the main floor with a king bed and a great kitchen area, fireplace and an outside door with a ground-level deck right overlooking the beach. It was a bit more expensive, and we didn't need the extra beds that the upstairs to this unit has,but the extra space and other embellishments would have made it worth it. Unfortunately, no pets in that unit. The customer service was exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful! Overall, top-notch, with character and ambiance!
