I got lucky on hotel roulette!
After a long day of driving, I used my map app to locate a "hotel alley" in Tulsa.
I called the first one, turns out we drove right by it as I got someone on the phone. I thought I had called the local desk, but it was a reservation clearing house (#800) I asked about pets, yes, but it's a 50lb limit. Operator wanted to take my reservation on the phone, but I declined since we were right there.
My husband walked in and asked about rooms, rates, pets. Yes rooms available (lucky since the state fair was going on that week), $67 queen (AARP rate), $15 for dogs(no weight limit specified, lucky again since my lab is 99lbs!)
Hotel feels brand new, maybe just renovated? based on descriptions in other reviews.
The rooms are sparse in that modern kind of way: built in bed tables (danish modern, if you care), flat screen tv, fridge/micro, white sheets, no bedspread (they are yucky anyway, hotels don't wash 'em, can you imagine?) Sink in room and a space-agy water closet with no tub, but a shower with a glass door. Color paint on one wall, no cheesy "paintings" to look at.
I liked: the room layout and size, no bedspread, flat screen, night-light light switch in water closet, breakfast, nice staff, comfy mattress, field in back to run the doggy.
You might not like: the bright hallway light that comes in under the hall door. It's BRIGHT!
I didn't mind: being put on 2nd floor with a dog.
You might not like: other people with dogs on 2nd floor (interior hallways)
I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL
