I selected this hotel for a weekend getaway because it was close to the River Spirit Casino and there were no rooms at the Hard Rock Hotel/Casino in Tulsa. I was pleasantly surprised with the decor of the rooms. However, the hotel did not have enough staff to provide restaurant service and bartending, even though once served the food was good and speciality cocktails superb! After visiting both casinos, I was actually pleased that the Hard Rock was all booked up as the River Spirit Casino has a lot more to offer and costs less than Hard Rock.

I stayed here for two nights for a conference at the hotel. The hotel itself was fine. The room was clean and the bed relatively comfortable.

My issue with my stay was that they have a Starbucks stand in the lobby. We had a conference with about 200 people in attendance starting at 8:30am so one would think the Starbucks would be open and ready to accommodate. I got downstairs at about 7:30 to bet the rush and get some coffee. The sign said it opened at 7am yet no one was there. I walked around until I found a hotel employee and asked when the Starbucks opened and they said it should be open. The employee had to go and find the person who was supposed to be working there.

Although the decor in our room was very nice and updated, the property in general looked tired and in need of refurbishing - the carpet was stained in the hallways and the landscaping was half-dead, but that could be due to the historic drought this summer. I would stay here again, though, because we love the location and the room.

This was a last minute decision to spend the night in Tulsa. The rooms and common areas have apparently been renovated in the last couple of years. The renovation was superb. The rooms were new throughout...baths, flooring, bedding, furniture, electronics...all top notch. We ordered room service just as the kitchen closed and the food was suprisingly good for the late hour. I can't say enough about the staff. The late night staff was available and helpful and the morning staff as well. The breakfast buffet was extensive. From lox and bagels to numerous hot items, fruit and baked goods. Nothing left out. Starbucks coffee on site was also clean and well stocked.
