Traveling from New Mexico to Norfolk, Virginia. Had my wife book me a room in this hotel because of the price and the location which was very close to I-40 Eastbound. Right after checking in while going to locate my room, I heard a female voice calling out to me. Long story short, 2 young girls were riding around through the hotels trying to make some cash for sex. After declining their offer, I made off to my room on the 1st floor. As I inserted my room card in the lock a good sized rat ran across the threshold of my door.
Once in the room, they actually had a plastic lawn chair sitting in front of the desk. This has to be the worst hotel I've stayed at in many years. At check out, I was waiting for the owner to ask me how my stay was so that I could give him my opinion. No such luck!
Don't bother staying here unless a fun night with a prostitute while traveling alone is what you are looking for.

It started out, as soon as we shut our door there was a drug deal just inches from our front door. Then there was hooping and hollering and partying ALL NIGHT. And I mean loud and all night. It was AWFUL. We even discussed just leaving and sleeping at the airport (which is why we chose this hotel - it is close to the airport) You couldnt pay me enough to stay here again.

Found a great rate ($42/nite AAA) and booked on-line from the Hotel Web site (Choice Privileges). After an initial shock seeing a partially demolished hotel - we realized that the EconoLodge was next store. Check-in was quick and painless - had to pre-pay for the room. The room was on first floor facing the pool. Only big surprise was no bath tub - just a shower - which my 2 yr old did NOT like/want to use. Wireless internet worked like charm. After checking e-mail, we hit the hay. Reasonably quite nite on very(!) firm matreses. The Free breakfast is a joke - unless you usually have a piece of dry toast and a glass of juice for breakfast. Overall, you get what you pay for, which is pretty much just a reasonable place to lay your head for the night. I am glad that we stayed here and not someplace that charges twice as much for just a few more amenities.
