I called the hotel to guarantee my room for late arrival only to learn that the hotel had cancelled my reservation. No call. No email. They did reinstate my reservation, but they could not get me a two double bed room I had originally reserved. I got a king bed and a foldout couch. They tried to convince me that I had gotten an upgrade. But for some reason, to me one nice bed and one crappy bed is not an upgrade from two nice beds.
The front desk clerk was nice.
The room was clean and seemed fairly new.
The hotel, like so many other value hotels, is not built for sound isolation. I had to listen to the guests above me do what seemed like marching practice until well past midnight, along with constant hallway traffice, doors slamming, kids making noise.
This chain acted in my mind dishonestly by cancelling my room with no notice. I do not do business with people or businesses that appear to lack personal or business ethics. So Fairfield Inn now off limits for me.
