We were very disappointed in this hotel during our stay. At check-in, we were sent up to a room that was unclean and even had an unflushed toilet! We were given rewards points for this situation and then sent to a non-smoking room that smelled strongly of cigarette smoke when we opened the door. Then the front desk person took us herself to another room to make sure it was OK. It seemed OK (we were exhausted from 14 hours of driving) but later we found that the room’s mini-fridge was iced up. (It was fixed the next day.) Housekeeping was the major issue (no inspection of mini-fridge; coffee pot, ice bucket, etc., not cleaned daily; sticky (yes, sticky) bathroom floor). And without notice, one night our room keys were deactivated. (The desk clerk told us that both my wife and I must have had our room keys next to our cellphones.) After our stay, we emailed Fairfield/Marriott customer care about these matters and got no response. We waited about 14 days and emailed again. This time we got an email response from the hotel manager who told us that she had posted additional points to our account. She also said that during our stay we had been given a free room upgrade (which we didn’t know). But she made no reference to the housekeeping situation, room key problem, etc. Marriott: Just rent us a room that is cleaned properly every day, and give us front desk personnel who can supervise the housekeepers. We are big fans of the Fairfield by Marriott system, and we visit the Edmond area several times a year. But we will think twice about returning to this location in the future.
