This is a lovely hotel and we appreciate that they have a no pet policy (due to allergies) however; the customer service and lack of friendly staff leave a lot to be desired and can certainly ruin one's hotel visit.
As we entered the front lobby and approached the check-in desk, the front desk staff lady named "Kathy" was on the telephone. She ignored us and continued on with the hostile argument she was having on the telephone. Her tone and hostile voice was enough to scare anyone away. We waited patiently for her to get off the phone. As her phone conversation ended, she slammed down the telephone and continued to speak to us in the same harsh tone and hostile manner she did with the person she was speaking to on the telephone.
She was so mean and harsh, she actually scared our daughter! I can understand that people have bad days and have personal issues which can affect their work focus but please don't take it out on the guests! This was horrible customer service.
We tried our best to not aggravate her, to say please and to smile. But Kathy certainly needs additional training in how to be nice & friendly. Both qualities she was lacking during our time in her presence.
Other than that, the hotel is very nice and lovely. It is in a great location near several other hotels and very easy to find.
I would stay here in the future only if Kathy was not working the day we arrived (or if she receives training in customer service first)!
