While at first glance this hotel may seem like a good value, it quickly disappoints. Stayed there Dec 25 - 29, 2011 to visit family. Because of the location, there were not many choices, but I should have chosen the other hotels in the area.
The lobby is clean and looks nice and there is some granite in the rooms, but that is where it all stops and goes bad. Let's see:
1) Room service comes at 8:00 - 8:30am with an attitude if you ask them to come back
2) There were no washcloths in the room. When I called down to the front desk, I was told they were out of washcloths and are washing some. Mind you there were like 10 people in the hotel that week.
3) Needed a new pillow as the one was filthy. Called down and was told she was the only one working and I would need to come down and get the pillow. When I went down to the front desk, she was outside smoking,
4) Day 2 found a bug on the wall.
5) The indoor pool was ok but the deck and pool furniture was absolutely filthy. It could not have been cleaned in at least 3 years. You would not want to touch the brick deck with your bare feet. The furniture was the cheap white plastic kind and was completely stained with food and coffee - they could have just bought new furniture each year rather than leave it dirty.
6) The HVAC system was loud...and I mean loud. It sounded like a jet engine warming up when it kicked on - which it did every 7 - 10 minutes. It go so bad that I turned it off and went to Walmart and bought a space heater and humidifier.
7) Best of all, on Day 3, I go downstairs to the daily breakfast and there is a dog, yes a dog, in the restaurant area tied to a chair and being fed dog food right on the floor. I tried to find the front desk clerk, but she was no where to be found for over 20 minutes. When I finally found her, she said she didn't see the dog. Mind you, the front desk is about 20 feet from the breakfast area.
