“This is # 2 in Lawton??? Disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Stayed here for 4 nights for my sons graduation from Basic Training. First of all, most of the hotels in Lawton look older and well used. Check in was easy as was check out. My parents stayed here too on the first floor. The noise from the people upstairs was well heard. We were on the top floor so it was pretty quiet. Had problems with the key cards a few times and had to get them reactivated which was irritating. The room was typical. The furniture was all knicked up in both rooms. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were too "tall". The shower was fine but I had cold water the first day. You had to pound on the nozzle to get more hot water. Our mini fridge froze everything solid even when turned all the way down and we lost food because of that. We told the desk that we emptied it out and they never came and did anything with it. I was also disappointed that there wasn't a "sitting" chair in the room, just an office chair and what looks like a doctors waiting room chair. Also, none of the garbage cans had liners/bags in them. No big deal, just an observation. My husband used the workout room once and said "it sucked". The pool looked fine but we didn't use that either. Breakfast was decent - eggs, sausage, biscuits (good) and gravy plus the other usual stuff. The breakfast room was too small for everyone trying to cram in it. Cookies at 4 pm were good. The best thing about this hotel is that the employees were all very friendly. All in all it's an average hotel and for $69 a night I guess that's what you get. I'd probably stay somewhere else next time I come to Lawton.

Room Tip: stay on the top floor if you want "quiet".

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to show you our “Hometown Hospitality”. I would like to congratulate you on your family’s great achievement. It’s honest people like your self that allow us the opportunity to improve on the areas that we need most.

I can assure you this kind of incident is not the way we conduct business. Our goal is to provide a level of service that requires diligent attention to detail and is a matter of constant reinforcement of our Hotel.

As far as the age and condition of our hotel goes, we have recently started updating the hotel with new mattresses, painting, and re-doing furniture and will be going through remodeling and replacing of carpet in the near future.

Please don’t allow this experience at our particular Baymont, to perceive your expectations on the Baymont Brand. Again, thank you for your time to review our property.

ust want to let you and your staff know how much me and my family enjoyed our short stay at Baymont. We were there for a few short days for my sons graduation from Ft. Sill. Not knowing the area it was just a lucky pick that we picked Baymont. We arrived very late 3am on the 25th of January we were greeted at the front desk with a sincere smile checked in a few minutes and off to our rooms. May I add that we reserved one room back in December and at the last minute needed another requested connecting rooms and there was no problem. The breakfast was a very pleasant surprise it was great we didn't have to find a place being rushed in the morning to get to Ft. Sill for Family Day or Graduation. Can't say enough about our stay it was a pleasure and your staff was very helpful with directions when ever we asked. The rooms were outstanding and very clean. If we are ever in the Lawton area again I know where we will stay and will highly recommend Baymont to other military family's and anyone to stay.

“Nice to Stay in Lawton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We've stayed here, oh, probably 6-7 times over the years, after several bad experiences in other Lawton hotels, which will go unnamed. The Baymont rooms have always been clean, good amenities, a comfortable bed, good A/C (not too noise, either). Nice pool that is rarely crowded. I noticed that the carpets in the hall and stair do need cleaning. The breakfast is the standard hotel breakfast, nothing fantastic, but there is cereal, milk, fruit, yogurt, and weird little "sponge-bob square eggs". The coffee is not good, but there's a Starbucks just a 3 minute walk away! One thing I noticed is that the orange and apple juice had a chlorine taste. Not good. Chlorine should never be used to clean beverage machines. Otherwise the hotel is very nice, with a very courteous and welcoming staff. This is also a non-smoking hotel so smokers must smoke outside further than 25 feet from the building.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the elevator.

I am pleased to hear that you have been staying with us over the years and hope you continue for many more.

I would like to thank you, for giving us a positive and very informative review. I am personally looking into getting a different brand of coffee as well as why are juices tasted unusual. However, the staff and I loved your description of our square eggs.

On behalf of the staff here at Baymont, we all would like to thank you for staying with us in 2012.

“Don't trust your reservation”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We reserved the apartment suite by credit card with an email confirmation of the reservation. We arrived and they had allowed the previous customer to extend their stay over ours and moved us to the jacuzzi suite. I was staying there with myself and 3 12 yr old boys. This was a completely inappropriate action for them to take. The first defence was "Well, at least we didnt' charge you yet". Their solution was to send me to a neighbor hotel for a similar room but pay $35 more and since there was no pool at that neighbor hotel, they offered to "allow" us to come there and swim. I advised that it was their mistake and they would cover the cost difference. After a lot of attempts to pass the buck on their mistake, they finally offered us two adjoining rooms that was SUPPOSED to be the same price as the apartment suite. The rooms didn't have the amminities we had planned such as the full kitchen, but we accepted. After doing the math, the two rooms cost us about $25 more than our original reservation THEY botched would have cost us. I was supposed to get a call back from the manager about the situation - which never happened. I'm in the process of attempting to contact their corporate office about the situation. I had refrained from the negative feedback giving them an opportunity to make it right, but they did not follow thru with any ownership over their mistake.

This will be the last visit there - I am assuming that management has no intention of calling me to make this situation right.

Room Tip: Confirm your reservation and ensure they are not double booking over you - esp if you have a suite o...

I would like to apologize to you on behalf of the staff here at the Baymont Inn Lawton. I can assure you this kind of situation rarely happens. The employee that checked you in had contacted the manager to work out a suitable accommodation for you and your guests. He honestly felt that you were happy with the solution and assured me that everything had been worked out.

I have personally looked into your rate issue and your total was a little less then what
you had been originally quoted with taxes. I wanted to assure you, that you were not over charged at all.

I would like to thank you, for your review about our hotel. I will also look into this further and discuss it with management.

Please do not allow this past experience with our staff to diminish your thoughts and views of any possible future stays with us

“Great 2.5 Star Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011
1

Staying here as I type this so my opnions and observations are as fresh as they can be. This is the last night of 20 consecutive days here at this hotel. I have only stayed at THIS Baymont, and one other Lawton, OK hotel so my comparisons to other Baymonts is nil and other hotels in Lawton minimal, ie the Candlwood. They are NOT in the same tier and a direct comparisson is unfair, but hear me out.

I was invited to stay here after doing a review of the Candlewood, which I found clean and comfy but a tad bit overpriced for what you get. This hotel doesn't have the Candlewoods polish, but you don't pay Candlewood prices. My first impressions were a bit of a letdown I must say, as my Candlewood room had amenities the Baymont does not, like a full size refridgerator, stove top/burners, and clean carpets. The Baymont is showing its age and is in desparate need of new carpeting, but thats not to big of a concern of mine. Im never looking for the best of the best, just fairly priced for what you get. The Baymont, which looks outclassed has much better wifi signal, which impressed me. I was always getting booted from The Candlewoods servers. I must have my internet! So the Baymont gets Kudos for that. They also get the nod when it comes to breakfast. You can serve yourself up some oatmeal at the C, but at the baymont you get sausage, biscuits, scrambled egg that is not scrambled but folded over on itself (?), cereal, milk, OJ, coffee, bread, bagels, ect. Oh, and sausage gravy that isn't the best, but does the job. For longer stays, you save a bundle by not having to buy breakfast. The refridgerators in the Baymont unfortunately are laughable. They are micro sized. Good luck getting more than a few items crammed in there. I made due, but it was frustrating.

The bedding is on a par with the Lawton Candlewood. Not the best, but not terrible either. The comfortors are modern, if that matters to you. There is a pool too. I stayed in December, so it was rarely used. I never used it myself, and only poked my head in the pool area once just to verify it was actually there. Yep, there it is. Can't really comment beyond that. Look at other reviews if the pool is a make or break point for you. The bathroom was small, but clean. There is no sink in the bathroom itself, it is out near the room door. Which, is unlike the Candlwood where you nearly have a full kitchen w/sink, plus a much larger bathroom w/ sink/vanity. +1 for the C. Sorry B. Both hotels have nice lcd TV's, and approximately the same channel selection. I didn't look at the baymont, but the Candlwood did have a modern exersise facility, and a business office/room, albeit cramped. I know the Baymont has at least 1 computer in the lobby you can use if you are scrounging for something computerish to use. Didn't use exercise facilities/business center amenities at either, so no comment.

Something that bugged me mightily at the Baymont was the fact that all their soda machines were empty. I arrived and was parched. No diet coke for me :( . 3 Days later, still empty. Luckily I had made it to the local Walmart and purchsed what I needed. But that was pretty lame. Empty vending machines. Work on that B.

So how about the outside appearance and upkeep? Well, the landscaping is scare, the summer heat destroyed any and all grassy areas, if there was any. Now you get dead bushes and mud. Pretty ugly, but up to you to decide if its a deal breaker. Things are pretty green at other hotels.

Both the Candlewood and Baymont have laundry facilities. You don't pay to wash clothes in modern equipment at the candlewood, but you do pay for 80's technology at the Baymont. Thankfully boh wash clothes equally as well. I just hate scrambling for quarters to do laundry. The laundry room at the Baymont is on the 3rd floor, and could use better attention from maintenance. Always sucks to have some of the machines out of commision. I got lucky and was there during a down time, so there wasn't much laundry competition. As far a service goes, the people at the baymont were as pleasant as any Hotel people could be, from the desk help to housekeeping.

To summarize, The Baymont is ok and gets 4 stars for being a good 2.5 star hotel. I'd like to take their internet service and breakfast over to the Candlewood's building, and then be willing to pay Candlewoods (corporate) prices. The Baymont could tip the tide in its favor with bigger fridges and new carpeting, it really is stained badly in some places. Finally a thank you to Tammy C, who helped me get the lower corporate rate while I stayed in lawton for work. A tip! If you are ok with maid service 1 time a week on extended stays, the rate lowers. I paid 20 less per night here than the Candlewood and over 20 nights that adds up. For a shorter stay, might think about upgrading my hotels. All in all, my stay at the Baymont was a pleasant one.

Room Tip: People walking on the 3rd floor can be heard as if they are stomping every step they take. Annoying...

I would like to thank you, for staying with us at the Baymont and leaving a review for our hotel. I would like to apologize to you, for not living up to yours and our standards.

I have recently taken over the Sales department here, so your honest opinion really helps me know exactly what needs to be improved in our hotel.

Our hotel is in the process of being upgraded and remodeled, in the near future. As you can see, we have already started the process with upgrading the wi-fi internet, new televisions, pillow top mattresses and bedding. We are currently repainting, and updating furniture as well as planning to remodel the lobby and breakfast area. However, in a process like this the carpet is always the last thing that can be replaced. We also have plans to redo all landscaping before spring.

As far as the Coke machines, we have a local contract and have to wait until they have time to refill them. I would like to apologize for your inconvenience.

In order for us to offer the lower rates and continue serving the hot breakfast to our guests, we do have to charge for the laundry services at this time. We are also trying to get larger refrigerators for the convenience of our long term guests.

Again, I would like to thank you for staying with us and leaving a review. Please, feel free to contact me if you are coming back to the area or just need assistance on anything.
