Staying here as I type this so my opnions and observations are as fresh as they can be. This is the last night of 20 consecutive days here at this hotel. I have only stayed at THIS Baymont, and one other Lawton, OK hotel so my comparisons to other Baymonts is nil and other hotels in Lawton minimal, ie the Candlwood. They are NOT in the same tier and a direct comparisson is unfair, but hear me out.
I was invited to stay here after doing a review of the Candlewood, which I found clean and comfy but a tad bit overpriced for what you get. This hotel doesn't have the Candlewoods polish, but you don't pay Candlewood prices. My first impressions were a bit of a letdown I must say, as my Candlewood room had amenities the Baymont does not, like a full size refridgerator, stove top/burners, and clean carpets. The Baymont is showing its age and is in desparate need of new carpeting, but thats not to big of a concern of mine. Im never looking for the best of the best, just fairly priced for what you get. The Baymont, which looks outclassed has much better wifi signal, which impressed me. I was always getting booted from The Candlewoods servers. I must have my internet! So the Baymont gets Kudos for that. They also get the nod when it comes to breakfast. You can serve yourself up some oatmeal at the C, but at the baymont you get sausage, biscuits, scrambled egg that is not scrambled but folded over on itself (?), cereal, milk, OJ, coffee, bread, bagels, ect. Oh, and sausage gravy that isn't the best, but does the job. For longer stays, you save a bundle by not having to buy breakfast. The refridgerators in the Baymont unfortunately are laughable. They are micro sized. Good luck getting more than a few items crammed in there. I made due, but it was frustrating.
The bedding is on a par with the Lawton Candlewood. Not the best, but not terrible either. The comfortors are modern, if that matters to you. There is a pool too. I stayed in December, so it was rarely used. I never used it myself, and only poked my head in the pool area once just to verify it was actually there. Yep, there it is. Can't really comment beyond that. Look at other reviews if the pool is a make or break point for you. The bathroom was small, but clean. There is no sink in the bathroom itself, it is out near the room door. Which, is unlike the Candlwood where you nearly have a full kitchen w/sink, plus a much larger bathroom w/ sink/vanity. +1 for the C. Sorry B. Both hotels have nice lcd TV's, and approximately the same channel selection. I didn't look at the baymont, but the Candlwood did have a modern exersise facility, and a business office/room, albeit cramped. I know the Baymont has at least 1 computer in the lobby you can use if you are scrounging for something computerish to use. Didn't use exercise facilities/business center amenities at either, so no comment.
Something that bugged me mightily at the Baymont was the fact that all their soda machines were empty. I arrived and was parched. No diet coke for me :( . 3 Days later, still empty. Luckily I had made it to the local Walmart and purchsed what I needed. But that was pretty lame. Empty vending machines. Work on that B.
So how about the outside appearance and upkeep? Well, the landscaping is scare, the summer heat destroyed any and all grassy areas, if there was any. Now you get dead bushes and mud. Pretty ugly, but up to you to decide if its a deal breaker. Things are pretty green at other hotels.
Both the Candlewood and Baymont have laundry facilities. You don't pay to wash clothes in modern equipment at the candlewood, but you do pay for 80's technology at the Baymont. Thankfully boh wash clothes equally as well. I just hate scrambling for quarters to do laundry. The laundry room at the Baymont is on the 3rd floor, and could use better attention from maintenance. Always sucks to have some of the machines out of commision. I got lucky and was there during a down time, so there wasn't much laundry competition. As far a service goes, the people at the baymont were as pleasant as any Hotel people could be, from the desk help to housekeeping.
To summarize, The Baymont is ok and gets 4 stars for being a good 2.5 star hotel. I'd like to take their internet service and breakfast over to the Candlewood's building, and then be willing to pay Candlewoods (corporate) prices. The Baymont could tip the tide in its favor with bigger fridges and new carpeting, it really is stained badly in some places. Finally a thank you to Tammy C, who helped me get the lower corporate rate while I stayed in lawton for work. A tip! If you are ok with maid service 1 time a week on extended stays, the rate lowers. I paid 20 less per night here than the Candlewood and over 20 nights that adds up. For a shorter stay, might think about upgrading my hotels. All in all, my stay at the Baymont was a pleasant one.
Room Tip: People walking on the 3rd floor can be heard as if they are stomping every step they take. Annoying...

I would like to thank you, for staying with us at the Baymont and leaving a review for our hotel. I would like to apologize to you, for not living up to yours and our standards.
I have recently taken over the Sales department here, so your honest opinion really helps me know exactly what needs to be improved in our hotel.
Our hotel is in the process of being upgraded and remodeled, in the near future. As you can see, we have already started the process with upgrading the wi-fi internet, new televisions, pillow top mattresses and bedding. We are currently repainting, and updating furniture as well as planning to remodel the lobby and breakfast area. However, in a process like this the carpet is always the last thing that can be replaced. We also have plans to redo all landscaping before spring.
As far as the Coke machines, we have a local contract and have to wait until they have time to refill them. I would like to apologize for your inconvenience.
In order for us to offer the lower rates and continue serving the hot breakfast to our guests, we do have to charge for the laundry services at this time. We are also trying to get larger refrigerators for the convenience of our long term guests.
Again, I would like to thank you for staying with us and leaving a review. Please, feel free to contact me if you are coming back to the area or just need assistance on anything.
