“Wonderful Respite for Weary Travelers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2010

My brothers, parents and I were on our "Roots Trip" traveling through Oklahoma and Arkansas so that my parents could show us where they grew up, the location of their grandparents' farms, and other sites that we had only heard about through the years. It was a wonderful trip. We missed a turnoff and ended up at 5:30 p.m. on a Thursday night in Holdenville. Fortunately we looked at Trip Advisor and gave the Pallmer Inn a try. We were not disappointed. In fact, it more than exceeded our expectations. A charming, clean and very very comfortable inn. The cook/innkeeper made us feel very welcome by fixing a lovely breakfast the next morning. This is truly the best and only place to stay in Holdenville.

“The only place to stay if you are in Holdenville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2009

We stayed there two nights in May 2009 and felt fortunate to find such nice accomodations in sleepy little Holdenville. (population around 5,000) Our alternative was to stay in Ada, over 50 miles away but we were down for a couple of days working on maintaining the old family farm place about 12 miles from Holdenville. The Pallmer Inn would be an outstanding establishment in a much larger city which makes it all the more remarkable that it is located in a small farming community in remote rural Oklahoma. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated with antiques. The strict non-smoking policy keep everything smelling fresh and pleasant. There are but two motels in town (Capri and Country Club) that are considerably cheaper (we found the rates for the Pallmer Inn quite reasonable considering the accomodations) but as the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for". Unless finding lodging at the lowest possible price is your primary consideration, The Pallmer Inn is the only place to stay if you need lodging in Holdenville. The Pallmer is locally Christian family-owned and down-home friendly. The owners go out of their way to make you feel at home and provide everything they can to make your stay pleasant. My only complaint, albeit very minor one, is that the restaurant downstairs at the Pallmer needs to be re-opened. Besides a few fast food joints in town near the Walmart, there are no decent restaurants we could find in Holdenville. We dined one evening at a local diner (which shall remain unnamed) near the Pallmer Inn and truly wished we hadn't. The food, service, and decor all were 1 on a scale of 10, with ten being the best. To the Pallmer Inn owners: Please re-open your beautiful restaurant!
(which is nicely decorated with antiques and on the same quality and cleanliness level as the Bed & Breakfast)

“Best Little Bed & Breakfast (B & B) in Oklahoma”

I would have to say this is simply the best Bed and Breakfast in Oklahoma [-----------]It is a renovated brothel that closed down in 1933 located in downtown Holdenville, OK.

It has six rooms, two of which share a bathroom, otherwise the other 4 have their own private bathrooms. The rooms are beautiful and priced well between $55-$75 a night. It has a large inviting lobby and a quaint country breakfast dining area. It has a checker table and a table for doing puzzles as well as plenty of books throughout the building. They have the history of this historical building well documented as well as photos of the renovations the performed. It is owned by a Christian couple and partner who also run the attached Dinner Theatre that puts on Dinner shows and concerts every so often, plus they serve lunch M-F. The rooms are beautiful with TVs and wireless Internet, but no phones which was just fine with me as I used none of them. It has a wonderful quiet get away from it all atmosphere. My kids loved it, they played checkers, read books, worked puzzles and we all enjoyed the great breakfasts and visitation with other families and the owners. There is a renovated train depot across the brick road from the Inn as well as an Antique mall right next door.

Holdenville has a lake, airport and a Hughes County Historical Museum.

It is near Camp WOW [----](Wewoka Woods Campgrounds[--] and not far from the following attractions:
Wewoka Lake
Seminole Nation Museum (Wewoka)
Jasmine Moran Children's Museum (Seminole - [---] - the best in Oklahoma)
Oklahoma Oil Museum (Seminole)
Shawnee, OK (Historic Santa Fe Train Depot and other attractions -
Chickasaw Nation Visitor Center (Ada)[----]
LifeStyle Center of America (Top Notch Health Rehabilitation Center [----]-
And many festivals, concerts, etc. around the area towns throughout the year, check them out at [----]
