Five years ago I stayed here on a motorcycle trip across the country. It was a 2 on a scale of 1-10. Now I am here again for four days because there is not a harmonic balancer for a Toyota Camry in all of Oklahoma. The Elk City Days Inn has remade themselves by putting money back into their remodel. The beds and pillows are better tyhan the Best Western I stayed at last month and the cleaning service has been top notch. The TV channels are extensive except no SPEED Chanel and there is a refrig and microwave in the room. The Denny's on site is clean and efficient and the Western Sizzlin across the street is good western cooking. My favorite used to be the Best Western in Weatherford, Ok. but I will be coming back to this remade Day's Inn

After reading an earlier review on trip advisor, we were suckered into thinking that the Days Inn in Elk City was the best there was. What a mistake! We reserved 3 rooms. Each room needed extreme cleaning, especially in the bathtub and toilet. The door handles left black on our hands and you could smell the dust. My sister-in-law put socks on her feet because she was afraid to put her bare feet on the floor - the socks were black after 1 hour and we threw them away. Do not be fooled by the website pics. They are not pics of the rooms in Elk City. Though they claim they are going through remodeling, they must have teenagers doing the work because paint was slopped on the lights, grout was missing in bathroom tiles, and the recliners in the rooms showed more wear than my 10 year old house recliner. The worst part was that the doors did not shut well and we felt we needed to push the recliner and other heavy objects in front of the door to keep us safe. Stay away from this hotel if you care about cleanliness and safety.

We had just finished driving ourselves through a thunderstorm and ahead of a tornado watch and needed a place to stop for the night. No reservations, no way to check Trip Advisor. However, I've had good experiences with Days Inn in the past, so I pulled in here. The staff was very friendly (with a good sense of humor) and I got a room on the ground floor at a AAA rate of $52. The hotel is an older one, and some of that still shows in the rooms, but the things that really make or break a stay for me were all updated: the air conditioner and the bed. The bed especially was very comfortable. Some of the furnishings had been updated, some hadn't. We were quite happy with our room. We were also quite happy with the attached Denny's the next morning: best short-order cook my husband has experienced to-date, and he's a foodie so that's saying a lot. Their motto according to the waiter: "If you leave hungry, it's not our fault." The huge portions lived up to that.

I've been staying at this hotel for the past 15 months and they keeping inproving. I really happy they have pillow top beds, it makes me feel like i'm in bed at home. They have really put some money back into the place unlike other places i used to stay at in town. The staff is great and i would recommend anyone and everyone to stay there. I've even convinced some of the colleagues to stay there that used to stay at the Holiday Inn in town. They wish i would of tired harder into moving there earlier.
