We met family from Colorado half way at Elk City. We found the best rate at the Days Inn. Unfortuneately, we will be willing to pay more next time. Their was mold on the shower door of one of our rooms. Also, with the bar adjacent to the motel, it is not safe to be out of your room after about 9:00 PM. If we had been staying for longer than two nights, we would have checked out to find another hotel.

We got into Elk City not thinking every motel would be booked. Went to the Clarion and they were booked, they sent us to the Comfort Inn, also booked but that person took the time to call ahead to Days Inn and they had one room left. We drove by it and kept driving then went back. Decided we had to stay so went to the front office and the first thing we heard at the front desk was: DO YOU HAVE A PET? I looked at my husband because it seemed so rude instead of welcome, can I help you. I guess right off they thought we had a pet. We got one of their last rooms and our receipt had NO PETS ALLOWED circled in red. It was in bold print larger then anything else on the receipt. The back of the lap top said NO PETS ALLOWED. Yes, very rude reception however the room we stayed in was clean, updated, the bed was comfortable but just a typical motel room. I can honestly say that no one we talked to in Elk City regarding getting a motel room was nice except the person at the Comfort Inn who honestly tired to help us out. I would have driven on had I known there are nice motels between Elk City and Amarillo. By the way: Day's Inn has a sign in the parking lot that says they aren't responsible for anything that occurs in the parking lot. They do have an all night bar there as well as a Denny's resturant. Because we own our own business we know a smile and help for whatever reason is the best way to greet customers. I will email and commend the only person that tried to help us find a place to stay on our way to Roswell for a funeral. The Comfort Inn.

Just about everything is disappointing. The photo of the modern front of the hotel, fails to show the actual building where the rooms are, an old-fashioned 1960's outer door building. The "recliner" didn't recline; the tv remote didn't remote; the shower barely showered. And it went downhill from there.

What a disappointment! Had reserved a room here for 5 nights, supposedly non-smoking, handicapped accessible. Got there and were allowed to get into the room by around 2 p.m. As soon as we entered the room we could small strong cigarette smoke! Spiders were on the wall, so who knows where else they may have been! We immediately made it our business to find somewhere else to stay!
