“Nice affordable roadside motel!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2008

I was quite impressed with this basic roadside hotel. The rooms were surprisingly nice, very nice staff. I am a fan of the parking (at the door). Restaurants are close by. My only gripe is that the cable was a little too basic. No big deal. If you are looking for a VERY affordable motel along I-35, give this motel a try...

“Just OK--Disregard the Continental Breakfast”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2008

This hotel was older and has recently changed names. It was adequate for what we needed- a cheap room that we were just sleeping in. The grounds were littered with trash but it was a very windy day. The pool looked clean and people were enjoying it but we didn't swim. The room was dated but clean enough. Hot showers for all three of us. We expected to hear hiway noise but our room was quiet. Don't book this place for it's continental breakfast. It was unattended for a long time and they had run out of everything--which was really just toast and donuts. There was cereal but ran out of milk for a while. The breakfast area was hot at 8:00 am. We ended up going to Cracker Barrel--which was close. This hotel is within walking distance to Frontier City and the desk attendant said they had discount tickets for guests, so ask. We paid $10 extra to check in at noon, which was helpful.

“Stay AWay”

Stay away from this hotel unless you are suicidal. Between the strange characters in the parking lot, the manager who is the only staff we saw and a very broken down property, we couldn't wait to get out the next morning. This hotel is a disgrace to the Choice Hotels chain

“Certainly not great, but not too bad”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 March 2005

We received what we expected from this Quality Inn. The staff (new owners?) were very friendly and did what they could to help us with any difficulties, but this property was just average for this brand. The keycard system for the doors was broken when we were there, so we weren't able to select a room to our liking because they only had working cards for a handful of rooms. The phone in the room did not work when we arrived, but the handset was courteously swapped by the desk staff. This facility is one building of what used to be a three building motel-style Holiday Inn complex. Each of the three buildings are now owned by different companies, with one of the others being a Super 8, and the third being an independent. We appeared to be one of only a handful of guests there, and the property was pretty quiet. The rooms had been newly remodeled and had a new, albeit very thin, mattress. We were travelling with our 19 lb. dog, which they accommodated with a fee of around ~$5/night, and which was billed in such a way that we didn't receive Choice Rewards points for that surcharge. The exterior of the property was tidy in some areas, and destroyed in others. There was an abandoned swimming pool, likely from when all three building were one complex, that had been filled with dirt and was a real eyesore. The hotel had a new pool for its guests, but we did not use it during our stay. The property adjoins a trailer park and is seperated from it with a barbed wire fence. The area seemed remote and fairly quiet, even though it wasn't far from OKC proper or Frontier Land. There is a Waffle House nearby, as well as a couple of truck stops that may have restaurants. We did not check out the continental breakfast, but they said they offered donuts and coffee in the morning. Overall, I have paid less per night for four-star properties at the internet bidding websites. I don't think I'd stay again, unless the price was under $30/night, and even then, I'd try for something else first. It's clean and certainly qualifies as a place to crash, but not much more.
