“Little gem of a hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

We stayed at Comfort Inn/Blackwell, OK 8/21, after an 11-hr. day of driving on our way to AZ. We were so pleasantly surprised that on our return trip home, we stayed there again. Conveniently located just off the freeway, it is a haven for travelers and a gem in the Comfort Inn chain. Our room was very inexpensive, but provided all amenities we needed for an overnight stay. Comfy bed(s), decent TV, ample bath linens, and a very nice free breakfast, including 2 types of waffle batters, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices and coffee. There was no internet connection available when we arrived on the evening of 9/1, which we were told was a common occurrence, and our A/C went out briefly, but power was quickly restored, so no complaints there. Very good Mexican restaurant next door - sorry - forgot name, but recommend it. Definitely recommend Comfort Inn/Blackwell & look forward to our next stay.

Room Tip: My husband mentioned that we needed Internet access & hotel's wi-fi was down. We were given...

“A Good Overnight Stop in North Central Oklahoma”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

This Comfort Inn is 15 years old but LC keeps it looking like brand new. We stayed two nights and had only minor concern: The A/C worked hard all night, chattering infrequently, but take into account that the outside temps were 107 by day and above 85 at night. What A/C wouldn’t work hard in that situation? Friendly staff, an extensive continental breakfast with a joyful “waitress” (for want of a better word). Just off I-35 with nearby: 4 fast-food chains, 2 large convenient stores (Shell and Conoco), a very good Mexican eatery next door and a Brahm’s Dairy (excellent regional ice cream store) across the street. Our room had typical Comfort Inn amenities and great beds! Yes, we’ll stop there again.

“Nice place for a short stop over”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2011

The desk clerk was friendly and helpful upon arrival and departure. The room was of a good size. It was generally clean but there was the odd stray hair on the bedding and in the bathroom. The bed was comfy too. Aircon worked fine. One of the lightbulbs needed changing but we reported this to reception and they said they would fix it for the next people - it's a shame other customers don't report things when they don't work to benefit the next people.
Only one negative and that was that the pool didn't open until 9am so we couldn't get an early swim.

“Not quite up to Comfort standards!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2010

Pros; Good sized room and clean!
Cons: Don't expect WiFi. We were in room 121 and it wouldn't work! Went to the front desk and she tried to assist but to no avail. I had been at an Iowa farm for three days with no internet and needed to check some business info - NOT HERE! The front desk lady could only issue 1 card key because the machine was so old it only worked intermittenly. We were number 4 in line to check in so the front desk gal decided to try and use fail safe keys as the second key until she had time to make a second. Needless to say - the fail safe keys didn't work! The bathroom stool lid would not stay in up,( a happy thing for most gals ) so every time you had to hold it up!! The air conditioner sounded like a thrashing machine and recycled about every 4 minutes - on 4 off 4 - all nite long. It was 90 outside so had to have air. NO ELEVATOR - get there early for a first floor room. Breakfast was stand fare but did have boiled eggs. This hotel needs some TLC and a definite electronic upgrade!
I have stayed at this hotel before but will probably select the Best Western right next door in the future!

“A good surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2007

We selected this hotel because of location, and also because they are pet friendly and we travel with a small dog. They are right off of the interstate. Couldn't believe how nice it was!! The room was CLEAN!!! the heating system actually worked !!! the bed was WONDERFUL!!! Also a really good continental breakfast. And there isn't any "but" at the end of this review -- we were more than happy with our stay and will go back.

  • Liked — Clean, great beds, everything worked -- heater, shower, television -- plenty of towels
  • Disliked — Actually didn't have anything to complain about!
