I was also here during the hotest Labor Day weekend on record. But unlike the other guest, while the hallways were warm (until the hallway air conditioner was turned on) my room was extremely cool, clean, quiet, comfortable, and well furnished.

The pool area was a bit warm, but I turned on the two air conditioners and the ceiling fans, and things got nice pretty quickly. The pool area is clean and a nice place to read a book. The elevator worked fine, but was slow and a bit noisy (especially the floor bell).

The breakfast was better than at some places but still not a full breakfast. The front desk people extremely helpful, even letting me into my room hours early.

The housekeeping staff was very friendly and happily accommodated each of my polite requests. I even left them a tip - which if you knew me, is saying a lot.

My only problems were that the hotel website was clunky, and that the hotel is not a part of any chain that gives rewards (like when they were an AmeriHost). Since this is the only game in town, it is overpriced, way overpriced, but if you want to be in Waverly and don't want to drive miles to another town (Piketon, Portsmouth, Chilicothie, or Jackson) this is a great choice. I would like to see a lobby computer added as well.

Unfortunately for the hotel, I expect a frequent stay program if I am paying this much, and I will drive to the Super 8 in Portsmouth to earn points and save 40%; even if it isn't quite as nice as this place.

It was 100 degrees outside and 150 degrees in the hotel...they dont turn the ac on in the hotel...the only air conditioning on in the hotel was at the front desk area!! We were on the 3rd floor...and the halls were so hot you would get ill just walking from the room to the elevator. When we got to our room...the air conditioning was NOT on. We turned it on an it didnt WORK!! The fan kicked on ...but it would not blow cool air. We told the front desk...and the really really OLD man at the front desk said to give it time. So we gave it 2 hrs! NO luck... Gave us a different room after waiting 2 hrs in a room of over 100 degrees. I am NOT exaggerating. It was a 100 degrees outside that day. They front desk clerk was "RUDE" to say the least....We visit this area often at least once a month...and this was our first and LAST stay at this hotel. We had reserved the room for 2 nites...and canceled our reservation for the 2nd nite. They charged our card for 70.00 more above and beyond the 2 nite stay ...instead of just one nite...what the extra 70 bucks is for we have NO CLUE...we have to go to our bank to dispute the charges...since we cancelled our reservation "within" the 24 hr grace period for the 2nd nite. My husband and I stay in hotels frequently every month....if staying in this area I suggest Comfort Inn in Piketon..just 3 miles down the road...or the Comfort Inn in Portsmouth just 10 miles down the road...DO NOT STAY HERE...IT IS A RIP OFF AND ITS AWFUL!! I wouldnt let my dog or cat stay here!! The elevator sounded like it was going to break also...it was scary...was the loudest elevator I have ever heard.

I'm not quite sure what the last reviewer was in reference to. The pool was fine. The room is clean. The place was full but quiet and the woman at the front desk couldn't have been any friendlier. I recommend staying here.

what a disappointment. no pool, no hot water, lied to and treated like crap because of being from out of state but surprize, i was born and raised in the area and know what the real people in this area are like. tara, trevor and randy you need to get rid of the jerk that checked me and my fiancee out. never had i been treated so terrible and been so disrespected in my home town. sorry, but you lost business from me and will let others know. .
