“Don't even consider it”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

Don't go here.

When you first arrive, you are pretty sure you have entered a war zone. The clerk is behind bulletproof glass and all transactions take place through a small hole in the window. This tells you a lot about the neighborhood.

We ignored this sign and actually checked in. What a mistake.

We got to our room to find it stunk of mold and "other" smells. The air conditioner was in pieces. The bed was jammed in to a too small space. There were no amenities. We immediately turnrd around and checked out.

“Not necessarily Traveler Beware, but Traveler Be Aware!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2010

This hotel is located in what my wife best described as a "seedy" section of town. Most of the businesses are closed and boarded up. The people are neither nice nor ignorant. They pretty much pay you no mind. Most of the population is non-Caucasian which did not bother me but may bother some. Still there is nothing to do around the hotel or even in the area surrounding the Wal-Mart in Maple Heights three miles away. So once your activities are done, plan on watching TV or heading up to Cleveland.
Regarding the hotel, the carpet especially in the hot hallway is old and worn, and the plaster in some areas (including our room/bathrrom) was damaged. Upon our arrival the manager on duty gave us our room assignment and when we got there, the bed was disheveled and clearly the room was not cleaned from the previous guest. We told the manager and, to the man's credit, he immediately came with us to inspect the room, apologized, and gave us another room down the hall. The hotel clearly needs updating as all the outlets except for one in the bathroom were in use by the hotel lights, microwave, and refrigerator, leaving no room to plug in a laptop or DVD player. The TV was also too old to connect our DVD player. The hotel offers free continental breakfast and free high speed Internet, but those were below expected levels. The wireless access point is only accessible from the lobby (which is not 24 hour guest access) or nearby stairs and not from the rooms. Also, the "breakfast" consisted of toast, coffee, and juice only. No cereal or waffles were offered. Apparently I should have looked for a DELUXE continental breakfast. All in all, this was a hotel to which I will not return.

“Paper Thin Walls, Interesting Neighbors”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2007

The room was decently appointed, maybe a little old, but it had the usual array of motel things. The walls were paper thin. The other guests were very loud, and one woman seemed compelled to have a very loud cell phone conversation in the hallway, right outside my door. Why wouldn't she go in her room to yell into her phone? I don't know; I wimped out and decided not to confront her. This was on a weekend; is it any better on a weekday? I do not know.

I dealt with two different sets of office staff. One of them was reasonably quick and friendly; the other ignored me until they found it convenient to notice that I was there. It was pretty easy to ignore me, too, since we were separated by one of those thick windows they use to ward off armed robbers.

If you have business in Warrensville Heights, just drive the three miles or so to the Beachwood hotel park. You might pay a little bit more (or even a little less!) but it will be worth it. If you're just looking for a no-tell for a quick liaison, well, you're still better off in Beachwood.

“Stay in your car!”

I should have stayed in my car. This hotel was run down and in the ghetto. My door frame was busted, I litteraly put the night stand in front of the door at night. There was no alarm clock and a dirty bathroom. The toilet water was brown. I will never stay at an Econo Lodge again.
