This hotel is located in what my wife best described as a "seedy" section of town. Most of the businesses are closed and boarded up. The people are neither nice nor ignorant. They pretty much pay you no mind. Most of the population is non-Caucasian which did not bother me but may bother some. Still there is nothing to do around the hotel or even in the area surrounding the Wal-Mart in Maple Heights three miles away. So once your activities are done, plan on watching TV or heading up to Cleveland.
Regarding the hotel, the carpet especially in the hot hallway is old and worn, and the plaster in some areas (including our room/bathrrom) was damaged. Upon our arrival the manager on duty gave us our room assignment and when we got there, the bed was disheveled and clearly the room was not cleaned from the previous guest. We told the manager and, to the man's credit, he immediately came with us to inspect the room, apologized, and gave us another room down the hall. The hotel clearly needs updating as all the outlets except for one in the bathroom were in use by the hotel lights, microwave, and refrigerator, leaving no room to plug in a laptop or DVD player. The TV was also too old to connect our DVD player. The hotel offers free continental breakfast and free high speed Internet, but those were below expected levels. The wireless access point is only accessible from the lobby (which is not 24 hour guest access) or nearby stairs and not from the rooms. Also, the "breakfast" consisted of toast, coffee, and juice only. No cereal or waffles were offered. Apparently I should have looked for a DELUXE continental breakfast. All in all, this was a hotel to which I will not return.
