“Pay a few extra dollars and stay elsewhere.”

This motel is in very bad shape. I stayed here on October 11th for just one night. The carpet in the room was filthy, the bathtub was nasty with black grime all over it, The blankets and bedspread were nasty, with stains and cigarette burns all over them. Mind you this was supposedly a non smoking room, but the room had a stale cigarette smell to it. The curtain was half off of the rail, which was broken so the outside lights brightened the room all night. You could only get 3 channels on the TV and the WiFi internet access, for which i bought a card, was down, and never worked. i asked for a refund and was told that the room was "as is" and they were unable to process refunds. I even tried getting a $2.99 refund on the wireless card, because they should have advised me the internet wasn't working when i bought the card, also to no avail. There were clean sheets on the bed, which is about the best i can say about this location. I stay regularly in Motel 6 and I am usually very pleased with the value that I get from this chain. This place, however, was a dump!

“Horrible horrible horrible!”

The hallways & room smelled of rotten stale smoke. The shower mat was filthy & there was a ton of mold growing under the mat as well as around the bathroom fixtures! The carpet was caked with dried dirt. The staff was not very friendly. Frankly I'd have felt much safer & cleaner if I had stayed with the pigs in the neighboring barnyard. I'm not kidding! Tom Bodette can certainly turn the light off this Motel 6 on Heatherdowns Blvd in Toledo OH!

Wouldn't even consider actually sleeping under the covers. Paid for two full beds, got one bed and one head board. No towels in the room- went to ask for some and what I got was a line of people complaining about their rooms and two nasty smelling towels rougher than sand paper. There was no remote and I was surprised there was even a working TV. There was no shower head- no joke- and a carmel/booger-like substance on the counters. My shoes were literally sticking to the floor when I went to leave. To second the previous comments, the place smelled horrible and I was concerned my car was going to be broken into.

This company needs to fire the management of that hotel, investigate illegal activity and probably burn the building. A clorox bath couldn't even clean that place.

I'm not the type to complain or cause a scene. I'm posting this because my experience was so horrible I wouldn't allow my worst enemy to stay there. As a business owner, I'm hoping corporate will see this and do something about the atrocity that is the Toledo Motel 6.

“Avoid like the wet plaque”

Don't do it... I didn't check TA ratings on this property beforehand and we paid for our mistake. Even for a Motel 6, it's pretty skanky. There is an unpleasant odor throughout the hotel (think smoke mixed with wet dog), the rooms are borderline clean / livable, and the walls are pretty thin. I'm a big fan of M6, but this was bad. Spend a little extra money and get a better night's rest.

There is a gas station very close by, a couple of McDs (one pretty nice one), and some chain restaurants within driving distance. There is also a Kmart.

“Acceptable for price paid”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2009

I stayed at this Motel 6 during a road trip along the Ohio Turnpike. I'd done some price shopping and found that this motel -- at $29 per night plus tax -- was the cheapest motel within about 50 miles. I didn't have a reservation anywhere and was pleased to be able to get a rock-bottom rate on a walk-up basis (although others should be aware that the rates can vary depending on local events and the day of the week).

The hotel is very convenient to both the turnpike heading east and west and I 475 / US 23 heading north and south. There are many restaurants and gas stations in the vicinity, as the Maumee exit off the turnpike gets a lot of traffic. I did not notice any noise from the highways, although I was exhausted when I stayed at the motel and kept the a/c running the whole time and that might have drowned out the highway noise that others have noted. The desk clerks at arrival and departure were efficient and friendly.

The room and property seemed pretty clean, although the furnishings showed some signs of wear. I was mildly distressed that the mattress pad was too small for the bed, but I managed to stay situated on it while sleeping (if there had been two of us, there would have been a problem in that regard). The parking lot and the surrounding area and appearance of some of the other guests caused me some minor concern, so I made sure to leave no luggage or valuables in the passenger compartment of the car. I happened to have my own pillows with me, but if I'd had to use the motel's pancake-flat pillows, I would have been uncomfortable.

Overall, the hotel was acceptable considering the price paid and I would stay here again.
