Had a non smoking room 2nd floor. Quiet clean & had a new bed which my husband loved.
They have a microwave & fridge, iron & ironing board which we used. WE've never used the pool so can't comment. Next door is a Bob Evans & other places to eat plus a gas station. The owner & wife are very pleasant & hard working. Our room smelled fresh but it was a non smoking room. & I don't think it was used for dogs as a previous person indicated. There was never a problem with hot water.

I read the reviews and decided to give it a try because I was traveling with my 3 dogs. First the overwhelming smell is the horrible, overused air freshener. It is not a nice smell ONLY because it is overused and overly pungent.
Otherwise, the place was okay as far as cleanliness is concerned. The outside lake area is overly littered with trash which made some red flags in my head.
But, the overkill was the non-existent hot water - I mean NONE - not even lukewarm. UNACCEPTABLE, PERIOD! It is 2011 folks, let's run a hotel with proper equipment in the winter.
The breakfast in NOT a SUNRISE BREAKFAST. It is barely paltry.
The service by Hussein was less than professional as he watched guests struggle with bags getting into snow and iced covered entrances as he sat 5 feet away watching TV with his feet up and arms crossed. RUDE.
If this were a cheaper stay like $30.00, perhaps the problems would be more digestible but I have had better stays at Super 8!

This motel did not register me under my name because someone else paid for it with their credit card. I gave them my Wyndham Rewards number and talked to member services for Wyndham Rewards and they said I may not get points for the stay because the room was not registered under my name. Employees working the front desk are totally incompetent and manager and owner were not on property and staff did not know how to reach them. Also telephones did not work the morning of my departure. Find someplace better to stay than this place.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel on March 9th. 2007. At first glance, the room looked okay but a closer look proved otherwise. As I was running water for a bath, I threw a washcloth in the tub. When it floated on the water the cloth was black with dirt. I quickly removed it and got another. While bathing, I glanced at the toilet bowl. The toilet bowl did not appear to have been cleaned after the previous guests exited the room. Also, our shoes stuck uncomfortably to the bathroom floor. The floor was very tacky. There was a refrigerator in the room and there was old moldy food in the freezer section. We also received a wake-up call at 6 in the morning. A great hotel service, except for the fact that we didn't ask for a wake-up call. To top it all off, when we lodged our complaints to the desk clerk she stared at us with a blank look on her face and said nothing. We paid $85.00 plus tax for the night. It wasn't even worth $35.00.
