Arrived at this location, proceeded to the front desk and was checked-in by a very friendly front desk person who also provided recommendations for food and select sights in the area. Check-in was quick and efficient. The lobby was nicely decorated and clean with muted colors. The breakfast area was of medium size and coffee service was available 24/7
I arrived at my room and began my inspection; the room was of large size, clean and neat but unremarkable. The furniture looked new and showed very little signs of wear and tear. The television was small and not a flat screen and the channel selection was limited. The bed duvet was freshly laundered and the bed sheets were white, clean and crisp. Being a frequent business traveler I always check the mattress for any signs of bed-bugs; I found none. The room also had a refrigerator and microwave, all clean and in perfect operating condition.
The bathroom was large, bigger than most Hampton Inn’s I have stayed. Inspection of this area revealed clean, neat and organized with plenty of clean white towels and a good selection of amenities. The shower was clean, had good pressure and the hot water was plentiful. I had no issues what-so-ever operating the shower faucet. It’s a standard faucet and if you have stayed in a hotel previous, you will have no issues.
The bed was comfortable, met my expectations and I had no problem sleeping. The hotel itself was nearly sold out and I heard no noise from the exterior or the corridors. The hotel was very quiet. The HVAC quickly cooled the room but was a little louder than I would have liked but, to be fair, I am a light sleeper.
The desk/work area was good with recessed lighting; the desk chair was comfortable and the wireless internet was acceptable.
The pool is interior and of average size. The workout room was small and had only 3 pieces of equipment but they were high-end and met my needs. Both areas were clean, neat and enjoyable.
This hotel is located in North of Columbus. Several restaurants are nearby and many with-in walking distance. This hotel also sits 9 miles North of Gemini Place so if none of the restaurant selections are acceptable this retail area has a vast number of choices. Just ask the front desk for more information.
The breakfast is what you would expect from this chain, good but nothing great. The only complaint I had is they were out of peanut butter for my morning English muffin but I would assume this has been rectified.
Would I return, Yes, would I recommended, Yes. This hotel met all of my expectations for a Hampton Inn property, clean, quiet and comfortable. This is a very good choice if you need to be North of the city and very pet friendly. $107.10 room + $7.23 State Sales Tax + $3.21 County Hotel tax + $3.21 Township Hotel tax, totaled $120.75 for a Wednesday night in June, 2011. A competitive rate for Columbus, OH.
